Jerry was a racing enthusiast and loved anything having to do with cars. He was a self-employed auto body technician. He was a member of Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church. Henry B. Stoltzfus, age 84, of 1735 Valley Road, Christiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at his home.
He was the husband of Mary K. Swarey Stoltzfus, who passed on May 21, 2011. They married on December 3, 1959. He was born in Elverson on August 28, 1937, son of the late Benjamin F. and Nancy Beiler Stoltzfus. Henry was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. ![]() Howard E. Anderson, age 84, of Peach Bottom, passed away at the UPMC of Lititz on Sunday, October 24, 2021. He was the husband of the late Mary Elizabeth Keefer Anderson, who passed away on March 31, 2019. He was born in Conowingo, MD, son of the late John Howard & Artie Florence Johnson Anderson. He was a truck driver for most of his working career, retiring from Packaging Corporation of America. He was a veteran of the Navy. He enjoyed fishing, camping, telling truck and Navy stories, and most of all he loved children especially his grandchildren. ![]() James Lee “J.T.” Tollinger, 69, of Holtwood, entered into rest unexpectedly at his home on Monday, October 25, 2021. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Arthur Tollinger and the late Arlene (Adams), wife of Samuel Drumm. He was the loving husband of Saralee (Bradley) Tollinger for over 45 years. J.T. was a 1969 graduate of Solanco High School. He was a lifelong farmer and had worked as a crane operator for G.A. and F.C. Wagman in York for 36 years. He then worked as a certified crane instructor for SEI Stephenson Equipment from 2009 until his retirement in 2015. J.T. attended Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church and was a Supervisor for Drumore Twp. for many years. He and was a member of the Lancaster Lodge # 43 F. & A.M., Scottish Rite, Zembo Shriners, Lancaster Co. Shrine Club, and the Robert Fulton Chapter #446 O.E.S. ![]() Mary Dagen Keener, 102, of Fairmount Homes, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Monday, October 25, 2021. Born in Willow Street, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Maude (Graver) Dagen. She was the loving wife of H. Lester Keener for over 68 years at the time of his passing in 2013. Mary was a homemaker and had baked and cooked at the former Rhoads Spanish Tavern. She had volunteered for over 50 years in the kitchen during the Solanco Fair and at Black Rock Retreat. She was a former member of Mt. Vernon Mennonite Church and current member of Village Chapel in Voganville. ![]() Carol L. Brown, age 74 of Paradise, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the Lancaster General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Harry B. Brown who passed away on October 25, 2018. Born in Georgetown, she was the daughter of the late John M., Sr. and Hannah Gilbert Keene. Carol was a member of the Georgetown United Methodist Church. She loved animals and was very involved with the ASPCA. In her free time, she loved doing cross stitch, jigsaw puzzles, and going traveling with Harry. David J. He and his wife Virginia “Jinny” Cole Russell celebrated 60 years of marriage in February 2020. Born in Narbeth, PA he was the son of the late Samuel M. and Helen Lentz Russell. Dave had been employed and retired as a salesman (anyone surprised?) for manufacturing and industrial tools. A US Army veteran, he served at Ft. Benning, GA during the Korean War. Dave was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg where he served as an Elder and Deacon and participated in the men’s prayer breakfast. ![]() Charles J. “Chuck” Gallagher, 62, of Little Britain, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Jennersville Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Geraldine T. (Szymanski) Gallagher, with whom he shared 36 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Donna M. (Morrison) Gallagher. Chuck attended John Bartram High School in Philadelphia. In 1986 he attended the Pennsylvania State Police Academy to receive Motor Vehicle Certification. For 28 years he worked as an examiner, first for the PA State Police, and later PennDot, evaluating those obtaining various classes of driver’s licenses. ![]() Roy Albert Rex, Jr., 87, of Kirkwood, passed away on October 23, 2021 at UPMC, Lititz. He was the beloved husband of Terryll L. (Smith) Rex, with whom he shared 26 years of marriage. Born in Lehighton, he was son of the late Roy Albert, Sr. and Myrtle (Hagenbach) Rex. Roy was a graduate of Lehighton High School, class of 1952. After high school, he found employment in the railroad industry, working at both the Sunnyside Rail Yard and Oak Island Rail Yards. He then enrolled at Penn State University and earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering. Roy went on to a career as an electrical engineer, working for Ratheon and later forming his own company, Electrologic Control Corporation in Wrentham, Mass. Porter Steven McKnight, infant son of Tyler Steven McKnight and Shannon Marie Leonard, was stillborn on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Reading Hospital.
