Tressie M. Wilson, 88, of Oxford, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 at Christian Hospital, Newark, DE. She was the wife of the late Clyde I. Wilson with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Asheville, NC she was the daughter of the late William and Lona Miller Keys. She was a member of the Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church. Tressie was a seamstress at Fawn Grove Manufacturing Company, Rising Sun, MD. She enjoyed her family, listening to gospel music, cooking and sewing. Donald Gordon MacLean went home to be with the Lord Saturday evening, March 26, 2016, at age 92. He passed away at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, where he had lived with his wife for over eight years. Don was born February 13, 1924, in Evanston, Illinois, where he grew up in a Christian family and welcomed Christ as his savior at age thirteen. He was the son of the late Dr. John MacLean and Willene Grant MacLean. Don graduated from Northwestern University in electrical engineering, then obtained a Master's degree from the University of Michigan. He was a professional engineer employed by DuPont at Chambers Works until his retirement, at which time he went back to work for DuPont as a contractor. Don's faith in Christ was evident in his life and activities. He was an active church member and served many years at Faith Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, DE, on the building committee, and as a deacon, trustee, and elder. More recently, he was an elder at Proclamation Presbyterian Church in Bryn Mawr, PA. After moving to Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community in 2008, he enjoyed attending Faith Presbyterian Church in Quarryville, PA, as long as he was able. Lois L. Sheets, 89, of Rising Sun MD, passed away on March 24, 2016. Born in Harrisville, MD, a daughter of the late Thomas and Lizzie Wingler Adams. Lois was an avid bingo player and Baltimore Orioles fan. She was a member of the Conowingo Baptist Church. She is survived by 7 children; Tom (Patty) Sheets, Drumore, Betty (Bud) Jones, Darlington, MD, Judy (Mac) Cianchette, Hartland, ME, Jim (Cindy) Sheets, Quarryville, Wanda Morrison, Quarryville, Linda Vencill, Rising Sun, MD, Ruth (Doug) McGlothlin, Conowingo, MD, 23 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 65 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 7 siblings and 3 grandsons. Patricia “Patsy” A. Null, 65, of Ronks PA, went to be with our Lord Jesus on March 25, 2016. She gave a courageous fight for six years. She was the wife of Dewey R. Null. They had celebrated 44 years of marriage. Patsy was a graduate of St. Joseph Nursing School. Born in Lancaster PA, a daughter of the late Richard W. and Thelma R. Kelley Hecker. She enjoyed playing pogo, reading books, cross stitching, loved sitting with her dog, Mia, and watching her grandson’s baseball games. She was a member of Bellevue Presbyterian Church, Gap, PA. Ray R. Rineer, 79, of Willow Street PA, passed away on March 22, 2016. He was the husband of Gloria Stonesifer Rineer. That had been married for 59 years.
Ray had been a heavy equipment operator for 55 years where he was a proud, loyal, dedicated employee of the Andrews Excavating Corp. Born in Smithville PA, a son of the late John C. and Mary Warfel Rineer. John was an active member of the Smithville Church of God, here he had served as usher, trustee, and deacon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to the mountains. Susan L. Ryan, 59, of Quarryville PA, passed away on March 22, 2016. She was the wife of Mark D. Ryan. Susan was born in Montgomery County, a daughter of Thomas and Barbara L. Allen Hensley. Susan was a registered nurse, working as an ADN and DN at several nursing care facilities in Lancaster and Chester Co. Always a teaching nurse, she was very patient oriented. She enjoyed playing the piano, reading, and spending time in the outdoors. Marsell “Marcy” D. Santana, 63, of Nottingham, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at her home. Born in West Grove, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer and Mary Frances Krauss Duncan. Marcy was formerly employed with Lukens Steel Mill, she was also a school bus driver for the Kennett Consolidated School District and as a nurse’s aide for the Pocopson Home. She enjoyed cooking, dogs, watching the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies and especially babysitting her granddaughter, Savannah. Wilma L. Hayworth, 86, of Rising Sun, MD, formerly of Nottingham passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at Calvert Manor Health Care Center, Rising Sun, MD.
She was the wife of the late Offie Hayworth, Sr. and was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Sanchez. Born in Rhodell, WV, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia Brown Shutt. Wilma enjoyed playing bingo. Crystal Lynn Brion, 53, of Maple Shade Road, Christiana, PA died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at her residence following a long battle with cancer. She was the wife of R. Wayne Brion. Born in Lancaster, PA she was the daughter of Robert and Betty Jo Brown Lundy of Quarryville. A homemaker, she enjoyed Philly sports, going to the beach, and to the casinos. David Leo Rosiere, 65, of Main Street, New Providence died Friday, March 18, 2016 at his residence of natural causes.
He was the husband of Darlene Harris Rosiere. David was born in Arkansas City, KS, a son of the late Leo J. and Maime Vereen Rosiere. He was retired from Powell Steel as a welder. |
