![]() Dorothy Mae “Peggy” Boohar (McMichael), 77, of Nottingham, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Charles Boohar with whom she shared 48 years of marriage. Born in West Grove, PA she was the daughter of the late Lester (Buck) and Dorothy Golden McMichael of Oxford, PA. In her earlier years, Peggy enjoyed fishing and hunting. She also enjoyed making homemade jelly and canning and talking to everyone she met. Kenneth Thomas O’Neil, 67, of Nottingham, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. He was the husband of Jane Louise Stiefel O’Neil with whom he shared 38 years of marriage. Born in Patterson, NJ he was the son of Thomas Edward and Joyce Sibilio O’Neil of Myrtle Beach, SC.
Ken graduated from Temple University School of Pharmacy, Philadelphia in 1978. He was employed as a pharmacist with Rite Aid for 41 years most recently in Oxford, PA. ![]() Ruth W. Miller, 85, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 20, 2019 in the Glen at Willow Valley Communities. She was the loving wife of the late Donald Miller, who died October 10, 2017 and daughter of the late Aaron and Mary (Rummel) Weaver. Surviving are her daughter Lou Ann Lehman and husband Scott, of Dover, PA, grandchildren Lamar Lehman and fiancée Jilliane Billet, of York, Erin Hartman, wife of Dr. Stuart Hartman, of Bloomsburg, great-grandchildren Oliva and Eva Hartman, Baby Hartman, expected April, 2020, Sister Anna Mary Thompson, brother Harold Weaver and special brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. ![]() Lucille G. “Toot” Wilson, 98, formerly of Bartville, entered into rest on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community where she had been residing since 2006. Toot, as she was loving called was born in Puseyville Hollow, and was the daughter of the late J. Clarence and Anna (Peters) Girvin. Her husband, Austin H. “Josh” Wilson died in 1987. Toot graduated from the former Quarryville High School where she was captain of the Girls Basket Ball Team. After graduating she worked and retired from the former RCA Corporation. She was a life member and oldest member of Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church. One of Toot and her late husband’s favorite things was traveling to shows and collecting Fiestaware and Depression glassware. ![]() Mary Herr Kelly, 93, a native of Providence Township, PA passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019, in her home in Everett, Washington. She was the widow of Martin H. Kelly, who passed away in 1979. She was the daughter of the late Elmer Henry Herr and Mary Alice Hess. ![]() Maria Luise Herr, 91, of Quarryville, entered into rest on Thursday, October 17, 2019. Born in Fritzlar, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Konrad Schanze. Maria met her late husband, Thaddeus W. Herr while she was serving in the American Red Cross during WWII. Thaddeus died in 1998. Maria was a housewife and worked in the bakery at the former Willow Valley Bake Shop. She attended Mt. Hope United Methodist Church. A real people person, she loved visiting shut-ins and also browsing through consignment shops. ![]() Daniel C. “Trapper” Adams, 70, of Quarryville, entered into rest unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 14, 2019. Born in Oakwood, MD, he was the son of the late Paul M. and Lucille (Sheets) Adams. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Lena (Leed) Adams. Trapper did many things throughout his life and was known as a “Jack-of-all-trades”. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing in Lewes, DE, and trapping. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife are 3 children: Mike, husband of Marjorie Leed; Danielle, wife of Robert Charles; and Travis Adams, companion of Emily Long; 4 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Also surviving are 6 brothers and a sister. ![]() Susan (Brackbill) Aukamp, 59, formerly of New Providence, PA, peacefully passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Conestoga View, Lancaster, PA. Born in Lancaster, PA, a daughter of Ruth Groff Brackbill, Willow Street, PA, and the late Norman E. Brackbill. Sue worked for many years at Exide Technologies, Lampeter until her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis at age 29. Her passion was to always help others and bring joy where ever she went. Sue loved to laugh and always kept a positive outlook throughout her illness. Multiple sclerosis may have caused her physical limitations and took her independence, but never robbed her of her lively, humorous and positive personality. ![]() R. Dale Winters, 77, of Refton, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Lester I. and E. Lillian (Eshleman) Winters. Dale was a graduate of Lampeter-Strasburg High School, class of 1960. After high school, he found employment with Sperry New Holland (CNH Industrial) in various positions, retiring with 32 years of service. Dale proudly served his country in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Following NASCAR was Dale’s favorite pastime, and Dale Earnhardt Sr. was his favorite driver. He also enjoyed going to car shows. Dale was a certified EMT and over the years he served in the New Holland, Warwick, and New Providence Ambulance Associations. Dale was very patriotic and loved his country. |
