Aaron B. Stoltzfus, age 18 of 60 Picadilly Hill Road, Quarryville, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 as a result of a farming accident.
He was born in Paradise, son of Daniel E. and Katie F. Beiler Stoltzfus of Quarryville. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Barbara A. (Leaman) Snyder, age 79 years 7 months, of New Providence and formerly Refton, died on Saturday, July 29, 2023. She was the wife of Roy Snyder, with whom she celebrated 62 years of marriage in July. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Ruth (White) Leaman. Barbara attended Lampeter Strasburg High School. Barbara was a housewife, and she enjoyed cooking, traveling, and target shooting. She was a member of the PPL Retiree’s Club, a benefactor member in the N.R.A, and also a member of Ascension Lutheran Church. Surviving besides her husband is a brother, John D. Leaman, of Lancaster, sisters-in-law, Kathryn Rhineer and Mariam Graeff, both of Willow Street, and several nieces and nephews. Catherine Elizabeth Funk, 71, of Willow Street, entered into rest unexpectedly at her home on Friday, July 21, 2023. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Patricia Sensenderfer. Cathy had worked for Lancaster General Hospital as a custodian and also drove bus for disabled students in recent years. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, loved animals and also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are three children: Jay Sweigart, Jr., husband of Michelle; Tammy, wife of Richard Shaak; and Jeff Sweigart. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 siblings. Dolores Ann Wright, 84, of Oxford, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Thomas A. Wright, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. Born in Colora, MD, she was the daughter of the late Norwood and Margaret Williams. Ann was employed with Avon Products, Newark, DE and retired in 1996. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Colora, MD. Ann adored her grandchildren. She loved celebrating their milestones and accomplishments. Mom-Mom, as her grandchildren called her, cherished family time, specifically beach vacations, holidays and birthdays. In addition to her husband, Thomas, she is survived by: one daughter, Beverly Flynn and her husband, Daniel, of Oxford; three grandchildren, Natalie Flynn, Nathan Flynn (Jennifer) and Naylene Flynn; and multiple nieces and nephews. Dave C. Eldreth (77), a beloved member and artist of the Oxford community, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2023 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Dave was born in Columbia, SC to the late Carl and Hazel Eldreth and moved to Oxford, PA as a young child. He is survived by his wife Faye Eldreth to whom he was married for 47 years. He is also survived by his daughter Diana Eldreth Chute and her husband Whitney Chute, and daughter Dana Eldreth and her husband Josh Mah, and granddaughter Madison Eldreth Mah. He is also survived by his brother Steve Eldreth and his wife Nelda, and sister Gloria Masciantonio and her husband John. Russell E. Croman, age 80, formerly of Quarryville, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Ephrata Manor. Born in West Hazelton, he grew up in Conyngham, son of the late Albert and Gladys Ritter Croman. He worked for Commonwealth Telephone Company for 45 years, starting out as a technician and retiring as a supervisor. In his free time, Russell loved doing pottery and woodworking. Jacqueline “Jackie” Schmidt, 75, of Quarryville, died on Monday, July 24, 2023 at the Mennonite Fellowship Home in Hagerstown, Maryland.
She was the daughter of the late Hestian and Velma L. Mace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Schmidt. Jackie was a member of Bethel Mennonite in Quarryville. Samuel K. Yoder, 5 year old son of Jacob M. and Sarah S. Stoltzfus Yoder of 158 Fulton Britain Road, Peach Bottom, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023 at home.
Samuel attended the Old Order Amish Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his 6 siblings: Mary S., Barbie S., Emma S., Levi S., Henry S., David S. all at home, grandparents Henry K. and Emma F. Miller Yoder of Peach Bottom, Levi S. and Barbara Stoltzfus Stoltzfus of Oxford, great-grandmothers Leah Yoder of WV, and Lizzie Miller of Quarryville. Linda P. Rohrer, 78, formerly of Quarryville, passed peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Herbert “Skip” and Mary (Fellenbaum) Autland. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Carol Sue. Linda spent many years working as a Nurse’s Aid at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. She was a long-time member of the former Zion United Church of Christ in New Providence. Linda is survived by a son, Michael, husband of Karin Paxson of Holtwood; two sisters, Beverly, wife of Donald Wimer and Georgia, wife of the late Jim Kirchner; and nieces: Donna Wissler, Debbie Gross, and Penny Hanky. Thomas P. Baker, 54, of Kirkwood, PA, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband Amy Chandlee Baker with whom he shared nine years of marriage. Born in West Chester, PA he was the son of the late Thomas Samuel and Catherine Elizabeth Lynch Baker. Thomas was employed with Walton Water Service, Unionville as a waste water treatment operator for fifteen years. He was a member of New London Gun Club. Thomas was a practical joker and enjoyed gaming, poker and spending time with family and friends. He was loved by all children especially, Emerson Cook |
