 David J. "Pappy" Comfort of Holtwood died on Sunday, January 19, 2014. He was 75.
Mr. Comfort was born in Lancaster, a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Jenkins Comfort. He worked as a maintenance supervisor of the Mount Joy Vo-Tech School. After retiring, he delivered newspapers for Lancaster Newspapers.  Florence E. Graybill Glass of Drumore died at home on Monday, January 20, 2014. She was 70.
Mrs. Glass was born in Drumore, a daughter of the late Raymond H. and Florence E. Graybill. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Glass was a member of the ladies auxiliaries of the Robert Fulton Fire Co. and the Rawlinsville Fire Co.  Pauline J. "Polly" Ankrim of New Providence died at Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday, January 12, 2014. She was 86.
Mrs. Ankrim was born in Peach Bottom, a daughter of the late John and Ethel Graybeal Stump. She worked at the Hamilton Watch Factory in Lancaster and at Tidy Products, Quarryville. Mrs. Ankrim enjoyed vacationing at the beach and traveling with friends. Sherry L. Mastriania Herr of Holtwood died on Monday, January 13, 2014. She was 48.
Ms. Herr was born in Lancaster, a daughter of Charles R. and Myrna F. Reese Mastriania. She lived in Lancaster before moving to Holtwood.  Ina May Witman of Kirkwood died at home on Sunday, January 12, 2014. She was 92.
Mrs. Witman was born in Clifton, N.C., a daughter of the late Lester and Laura Eller. She lived in New London before moving to Kirkwood. She worked for the Oxford Cabinet Company from 1951 to 1974. Mrs. Witman was a member of the New London Baptist Church and the Oxford Senior Center.  Raymond F. Witmer of the Willow Valley Communities died at home on Sunday, January 12, 2014. He was 90.
Mr. Witmer was born at home in Strasburg Township, a son of the late Clair H. and Minnie B. Rohrer Witmer. He graduated from the vocational agricultural program at Lampeter High School. Vivien L. Groff of Quarryville died at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community on Saturday, January 11, 2014. She was 95.
Mrs. Groff was born in Quarryville, a daughter of the late Howard B. and Elsie Rineer LeFevre. Paul Mellis Miller of The Glen at Willow Valley died on Friday, January 10, 2014. He was 93.
Mr. Miller was born in Erie, a son of the late Pheophon and Anna K. Daniels Miller. He lived in Quarryville before moving to Willow Valley.  Dorothy H. Crawford of the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, died at home on Tuesday, December 31, 2013. She was 91.
Mrs. Crawford was born in Kirkwood, a daughter of the late George A. and Dora Sherman Hogg. She lived in Kirkwood before moving to the Masonic Village. She worked as cafeteria coordinator for the Solanco School District for 15 years and as cafeteria manager for the school district for 10 years. She retired in 1985.  Jean M. Arrowood of Oxford died at Calvert Manor Healthcare Center, Calvert, Md., on Sunday, December 29, 2013. She was 80.
Mrs. Arrowood was born in Wrightsville, a daughter of the late Joseph C. and Alice H. Brown Buffington. She was an Avon representative for 39 years. |
