LuAnn Keys of Nottingham died at Lancaster General Hospital on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. She was 58. Mrs. Keys was born in West Grove, a daughter of Nancy Tollinger Renier of Quarryville and the late Carl D. McVey Sr. She graduated from Solanco High School in 1974. Mrs. Keys worked for Eschbach Bus Company, Holtwood, for 14 years. Jane Ann L. Schwarz Huyser of Holtwood died at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy, on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. She was 50.
Mrs. Huyser was born in Hackensack, N.J., a daughter of Victor F. and Jane A. Sarro Schwarz of New Providence. She lived in Wykcoff, N.J., before moving to Holtwood. A devout Christian, she was a member of Shiloh Community Fellowship, Quarryville. E. Marie Johnson of Oxford died at Conestoga View Nursing Home, Lancaster, on Sunday, November 23, 2014. She was 91. Mrs. Johnson was born in Greensboro, N.C., a daughter of the late Ollie Glenn and Carrie Janita Bosher Williams. She lived in Rising Sun, Md., before moving to Oxford. She worked as a bookkeeper for Oxford Borough until she retired in 1998. She had earlier worked as a bookkeeper for the town of Elkton, Md.
Frank W. Woolston, 60, of Oxford, PA, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014. Frank was born 7/20/1954. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Frank was an amazing man, and one of a kind. He was a protector and a most loyal friend. Frank had worked as a Merchant Marine engine man, for Atlantic Richfield, he went on to be a successful self-employed carpenter/contractor and later an amateur farmer which he so enjoyed. He had a love of the outdoors, deep sea fishing, gardening, and the Phillies. A man with many interests and talents that he loved to share. The Reverend Dr. Milton C. Fisher, TH.M, Ph.D, D.D., Professor of O.T., Emeritus, 88, of the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Edgar Wells and Ethel Lillian (Young) Fisher. He and his wife, Merilyn (DeMott) Fisher had celebrated 63 years of marriage in August. After graduating from high school he went to Johns Hopkins University, and then Dr. Fisher went to seminary in Philadelphia. He married Merilyn and they moved to Pittsburgh, where he served as a pastor for three years. Following his time in Pittsburgh, he and his wife went to do missionary work in Ethiopia for the next 12 years, until 1966. Upon returning to the states, Dr. Fisher continued his education in Boston, where he received his Ph.D. He then returned to the Philadelphia area and served as a professor of the Old Testament for the next 27 years. Dr. Fisher served on the NIV Bible Translation Committee, where he and his wife had the opportunity to travel extensively. Mary J. Perkins of Lancaster died on Saturday, November 8, 2014. She was 71. Mrs. Perkins was born in Manassas, Va., a daughter of the late Oscar and Minnie Sheets Blevins. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Conestoga Valley Church of Christ. Mrs. Perkins enjoyed flowers and trips to the beach. Mary Helm Eshleman of the Willow Valley Community, died on Sunday, November 9, 2014. She was 94.
Mrs. Eshleman was born in New Providence, a daughter of the late Dr. John and Florence Heagy Helm. Betty Saylor McMullen of Quarryville died at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community on Friday, November 7, 2014. She was 92. Mrs. McMullen was born in West Chester, a daughter of the late Clyde T. and Dorothy Keim Saylor. She earned a teaching degree in physical education from West Chester University. She and her husband moved to Quarryville in 1952. Dr. Richard Henry "Dick" Stoneback Sr. of Strattanville died at DuBois Regional Medical Center on October 25, 2014. He was 81. Dr. Stoneback was born in East Greenville, a son of the late William Henry and Laura Neiman Stoneback. He graduated from Quakertown High School and earned a bachelor of science degree from Penn State University. He earned a doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School in 1958. |
