Robert George Schmitt, 97, died on February 25, 2023 at Oak Leaf Manor South, where he had resided for the past 3 years. Born to the late George and Rose Schmitt in Paterson, NJ, he attended Emerson High School in Union City, NJ and Seton Hall University, in South Orange, NJ. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy Pacific Theater during WWII, stationed with the Marines in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged and was later recalled for duty during the Korean War. Bob was the husband of Helen (Brunetta) Schmitt, with whom he shared 73 years of marriage. They raised their three boys in Northern NJ, where Bob worked as a Certified Medical Representative for a pharmaceutical company for 35 years. Michael P. Suydam, age 55 of Lititz, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in Alaska, he was the son of Edith A. Lohr Suydam and the late John K. Suydam who passed away on February 17, 1993. He graduated from Solanco High School and spent most of his working career doing roofing. In his free time, Michael loved woodworking and listening to country music. After 83 years, the Lord welcomed Fay Cutler Noyes home on Friday, February 24, 2023 from Rose City Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born August 19, 1939 in Quarryville, she was raised on a farm in Christiana by the late Lloyd and Mildred Lefever. Fay married Albert Cutler in 1957 and raised 3 boys. She enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, and camping with family and friends. A devoted Christian, she attended Little Britain Presbyterian Church for more than 40 years. Fay is survived by a son, Ronald (Denise) Cutler, of Peach Bottom; sisters, Judy (Bob) Hodson, and Doris Latham; grandchildren, Wesley (Desiree) Cutler, Bethly (Shane) Douglas-Snyder, Trevor Cutler, and Kaitlyn Cutler; great-grandchildren, Lyrabell, Melodi, and Cole; and a daughter-in-law, Joan Cutler, of Peach Bottom. Donald L. Fox, Jr., age 55 of Holtwood, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of Donald L. Fox, Sr. of Akron, and Charlotte Simmons Gehman of Ephrata. He was a member of The Church of Holtwood. Donald loved his career as a self employed painter, and in his free time, he enjoyed building model cars and fishing. Robert D. Robert D. Hargan, age 88, formerly of Willow Street, passed away in Myrtle Beach, SC on Friday, February 24, 2023. He was the husband of the late LaVonne "Vonnie" Sheaffer Hargan who passed away on May 25, 2013. He was born in Philadelphia, son of the late Franklin K. & Elsie M. French Hargan and foster son of the late Elisha T. & Clara Groff Shivery. Surviving are 2 children: Stephen husband of Carol Hargan of Lancaster, Kimberly wife of the late Michael Darnell of Myrtle Beach, SC, 3 grandchildren: Lakisha wife of Brad Welch, Fred husband of April Hammer and Sheena wife of Todd Gabriel, 5 great grandchildren: Harper, TJ, Copper, Grace and Bay. Also surviving are 2 foster sisters: Louise M. Stauffer of Christiana, C. Joanne Rhoades of Quarryville. Roxann White, 78, of Quarryville, entered into rest after a long illness on Thursday evening, February 23, 2023, while at home. Born in West Lampeter Twp., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Frances E. (Mastriania) Morrison. She was the loving wife of Wayne White for 47 years. Roxann loved flower and vegetable gardening. During growing season, she could be found working outside from sun up until sundown most days. Roxann was well known for her Christmas tree decorating skills, often having several decorated trees in her home each holiday season. She was also a member of the Rainmaker’s Assoc. in Lancaster. Dawn M. Beasom, 72, of New Providence, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2023, while under the care of Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Kenneth Charles Depoe, Mount Joy, and the late Jane Delores (Mentzer) Huntoon. Dawn grew up in Lancaster and attended J.P. McCaskey High School. Dawn enjoyed her career in healthcare working as a CNA for Willow Valley Retirement Communities and later as a private duty aide. Her most recent employment was at the Quarryville Family Restaurant. Dawn was a deeply loved, hard-working member of her family and the broader community. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her son, granddaughter, great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews, delighting in their antics and always ready to celebrate their achievements. Robert L. Brazee of Airville, PA, passed away on Thursday, Feb 16th, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Brenda with whom he shared 43 years of marriage. Born on May 7th 1958 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, the son of Lillian M. Aument and Roy L. Brazee. Raised in upstate New York, Bob moved to Lancaster County in 1976 and worked as a truck driver for 40 years. Some of the places that he worked for include, Carlos R. Leffler Propane, Tipton Trucking, Pine View Trucking, Hostetter Trucking, D.K Graham, D.L Landis, Quality Stone, Shoemaker Trucking and Excavation, D.I Aument, and lastly retiring from Old Line Trucking in Manheim. Javan Patrick Reigner, 19, of Willow Street, passed unexpectedly on Monday, February 20, 2023, while at home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Javan and Sheila (Baker) Reigner. Javan was a 2022 graduate of Penn Manor High School. He was very intelligent and had a creative spirit. He was known for his dry wit and love for reading and writing stories. He also enjoyed playing board games, especially Dungeons and Dragons. Javan was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Willow Street, where he was involved with the youth group. John Edward Quillen, 78, of Quarryville, is resting in God’s memory after passing unexpectedly in Nottingham on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Charles V Snapp and Hazel (Quillen) Fingerle. He’s was the loving husband of Rosemarie M. Quillen for 56 years. John was a member of the Quarryville Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses. He had been employed in various capacities by Delta Airlines for over 33 years; working in Philadelphia, West Palm Beach, Florida and Harrisburg. John loved history and aviation. |
