Ricky L. Henry, 55, of Millville, PA and formerly of Southern Lancaster County, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Geisinger Hospital, Danville, PA. Born in Providence Township, he was the son of the late Ross A. and Martha Kerchoff Henry. Ricky is survived by three sisters, Rose Morgan, Cathy Worledge, and Rebecca Warner all of Missouri. Lauretta Gardner Towner, 85, formerly of Nottingham, PA, passed away on May 23, 2015 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, PA. She was the widow of Jerry V. Towner who passed away in 1991. Lauretta had been a seamstress, specializing in making doll clothing at the Shader Co, Newark, DE. Born in Delaware County PA, a daughter of the late Frederick A. and Laura May Reese Gardner. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Thornton, PA. She was also a member of Little Britain Homemakers, Oxford Bowling League, Octorara Art Assn., and was an avid artist. Elizabeth C. Stonesifer, of Quarryville PA, passed away in her 100th year on May 25, 2015. She was the widow of Rufus E. Stonesifer who passed away in 1997.
She was a former member of Evangelical Church of God, Freysville, PA. Elizabeth enjoyed doing crocheting and crafts. She was born in Galax, VA, a daughter of the late Joseph T. and Cora B. Andrews Sexton. Betty L. Heisler, 81, formerly of Willow Street, and Country View Manor, PA died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Hamilton Arms Center. Betty was widowed twice, her first husband was Robert Zeiger and her second husband was Glenn W. Heisler. Born in Orbisonia, PA she was the daughter of the late Della Leighton. Betty had been employed in the maintenance department for Penny’s Store and then for Lampeter Strasburg School District. One of her enjoyments was going to the shore. Robert D. Lewis, 59, of Quarryville, beloved son, brother, and grandfather passed unexpectedly but peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at his home. Born in Lancaster, he was a son of John W. Sr., and Barbara Jane (Bailey) Lewis. Robert has worked for Federal Mogul for 34 years as a set-up mechanic and for the past 4 years had been employed by Warfel Construction as a carpenter. He was a great friend to his co-workers. Robert graduated from Solanco in the class of 1974. He was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan. Robert enjoyed cooking, gardening, and raising steer on the family farm. He was a diligent worker and a faithful friend. Mikeala Evelyn “Millie” Wagner, 18, of Quarryville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of Jeffrey and Tracy (Tome) Wagner of Quarryville. Millie was looking forward to graduating with Solanco High School’s class of 2015. She will receive her diploma posthumously during graduation. Millie was a long-time member and treasurer of the FFA. She was the type of person who would light up a room with her presence. Millie was a friend to all and a compassionate person who loved to serve people. She was well-known for her generosity among friends and classmates. Millie was very patriotic and had a dream of opening an animal shelter to care for the pets of military service men and women who serve oversees. She was a competitive horseback rider and jumper. Millie worked at After the Races, a thoroughbred re-homing and rehabilitation service in Nottingham. She loved animals, especially her Chocolate Lab “Bennett”. She loved the Lord and was an active member of Wrightsdale Baptist Church. David Troy Jamison, 50, of Kirkwood passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Mt. Joy Hospice. Born in Lancaster he was the son of Faye D. Waddell Jamison of Nottingham and the late Ralph J. Jamison. David was employed with D. E. DuVall, Inc., West Grove as a carpenter and cabinet maker. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2666, Oxford. He was co-owner of Camp Good Wood in Fulton County. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, repairing small engines, collecting and repairing everything. Lawrence E. “Larry” McHenry, 69, of Nottingham PA, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at his home. Born in Toughkenamon, PA, he was the son of the late Earl and Harriett Cochran McHenry. He was the husband of Brenda Gay Jamison McHenry with whom he shared 15 years of marriage. Larry was a veteran of the US Army. He served as a medic during the Vietnam War. He retired in 2001 from Chrysler Corporation in Newark, DE as a Final Inspector. Larry was a member and former chaplain of the American Legion Mason Dixon Post #194, Rising Sun, MD and of the Oxford Lodge #353 F. & A. M. and member and bartender of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2666, Oxford. He was also a member of Alcoholic Anonymous. He enjoyed the history of Gettysburg, reading and hunting. R. F. “Pete” Marlin, Sr., 83, of Lancaster, entered into rest peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Born in West Grove, he was a son of the late, Robert F., Sr. and Mami (Creggar) Marlin. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeanette (Dombach) Marlin who died on June 27, 2010. Pete was a long-time real estate agent who had worked for Town and Country Realty. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed Penn State and Philadelphia sports teams. Pete always had an encouraging word to share. Majorie J. Blatzheim, 79, of Quarryville, PA, died at her residence on Tuesday, May 19, 2015.
She was the widow of Edward Reynold Blatzheim, Jr. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Susan Valush Shubick. Mrs. Blatzheim enjoyed doing cross stitching, quilting, knitting, gardening, and camping. Majorie was retired from State Farm Insurance where she had been employed as a word processor. She was also a former secretary for Our Lady of Magnificat School in Kinnelon, NJ. |
