Edward James Martin, 77, of Quarryville died after a brief illness January 23

    Edward James Martin, 77, of Quarryville, went to rest with the Lord on January 23, 2022 after a brief illness. 
    Born November 16, 1944 in Philadelphia to the late Joseph George Sr. and Helen Alexanderwicz Martin. 
    Ed graduated from Sharon Hill High School class of 1963. Ed proudly served 4 years in the United States Air Force and then for several more years working in government in Washington, DC. In 1972 he moved to Dallas, Texas to help run Martin Brothers Camera with his brother Joseph until 1986. During that time he married Pamela Jackson in 1977. Ed eventually moved his family back to Pennsylvania, settling in Quarryville, where he worked for PECO, later Excelon at Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station and later Muddy Run Pumped Storage Facility and Hydroelectric Plant until his retirement in 2011.

    Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late James and Shirley (Spencer) Anderson. 
    He was the loving husband to Donna (Kramer) Anderson for over 25 years. 
    Dennis graduated from Solanco High School and was a self-employed truck driver since 1990. He was an animal lover and a well-versed man of the Bible.

    Marie Lynn Trout, 56, of Lebanon, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, February 5, 2022. 
    Born in Lancaster on July 10, 1965, she was the daughter of Jean M. (Wiggins) Trout of Quarryville and the late Harold C. Trout, Sr.  
    She was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Gary Lee Miller in 2012.
    Marie enjoyed doing puzzles.
    In addition to her mother, Marie is survived by 3 brothers: Harold C. Jr, husband of Connie (Sangrey) Trout of Washington Boro; Michael H., husband of Jeanie (Burlingame) Trout of Quarryville; and William D. Trout of Quarryville. Also surviving are 2 nephews, 5 nieces, 5 great-nephews, 7 great-nieces, and her bird, Fred.

    Donald G. Roop, age 83, of Lancaster, formerly of Strasburg, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Lancaster General Hospital.  
    He was the husband of Audrey A. (Rowe) Roop for over 62 years.  
    Born in Kirkwood, he was the son of the late James and Ella (Garner) Roop.  
    He was a graduate of East Lampeter High School.  Don was an active member of Calvary Monument Bible Church where he served on the usher team and was an associate elder.  He also served on the board of Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF).  He proudly served in the Army Reserves, retiring at the rank of First Sergeant after 21 years, while also working as a tool and die maker for Dupont and subsequent companies, retiring in 2002.  
    Don enjoyed hunting, wood working, reading, and riding his motorcycle through all 48 states.  He will be affectionately remembered for his love of God, his family, and his country. ​

    She was the wife of the late Charles H. Weaver, Sr.  
    Born in Mill Hall, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry C. and Maude Elizabeth Stover Tyson.
    She had been employed as a packer and inspector for Dart Container.
    She attended Clearfield United Methodist Church. 
    Surviving are 3 children, Evelyn D. wife of Chester Todd, Jr of Willow Street, Charles H. Weaver, Jr., of Landisville, Andrew H. husband of Tamara Weaver of Lancaster; 6 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and a brother Wayne Tyson of Mt. Joy.

    Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Jere S. and Ruth Kreider Fenninger.
    Darlene had been employed as a personal care giver.
    She is survived by four children, Jay (Melanie Perdeus) Dombach, Sherry (Douglas) Sensenig, Constance (Eric) Zeiset, Cynthia (Jeffrey) Raught; 8 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; 2 brothers, John M. (Ruth) Fenninger, Jay E. (Grace) Fenninger; and a sister Ruth Ann (Marlin)Kenney.

    A. Irene Deiter, age 93, of Lancaster, passed away at her home after a brief illness on Thursday, February 3, 2022.  
    She was born in Lampeter, daughter of the late E. Frank & Esther M. Witmer Deiter.  
    In the past she was a member of Willow Street Mennonite Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, and also a member of the former Lyndon Mennonite Church of Lancaster.  
    In the past she worked at the Lancaster Caramel Company, Lampeter Manufacturing making Hubley Toys, Strasburg Sewing Factory, Plain & Fancy as a tour guide, Kissel View Farm Bakery and Nancy's Corner.  She graded Bible study courses as part of the Women's Prison Ministry. ​

    Nancy Carolyn Noakes Kendig, 85, of Penny Road Holtwood, PA died peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.  
    She was the wife of the late Jay Allen Kendig who died November 27, 2016.  
    Born in Washington, DC she was the daughter of the late Alfred Henry and Dorothy Allen Noakes.  
    Nancy worked as a secretary at White Oak Laboratory in Silver Spring, MD and then at the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Pentagon, retiring after 20 years of service.  After moving to Pennsylvania in 1985, she worked as a secretary at Millersville University. 
    Nancy was a member of the Church of Atonement in Wheaton, MD and a member of Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church in Quarryville.
    Mom’s hobby and business was as a seamstress while raising the three children.  Later in life Nancy and Jay enjoyed many cruises including the Mediterranean, Alaska, the Panama Canal, and the Caribbean Islands.

    Susan L. Rohrer, 74, of Ashley Garden Apartments, New Holland and formerly of Strasburg went home to be with the Lord and her parents on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.
    Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Roy M. and Verna Eshleman Rohrer.
    She was a 50 year plus member of First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg.
A 1965 graduate of Lampeter Strasburg High School, she was employed as an Executive Administrative Assistant at CNH, (formerly Sperry New Holland) for 36 and half years, retiring in 2001.
