Jean L. Keller, age 86, of New Providence, PA, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020. She was the wife of the late Harold E. Keller, who passed away on December 31, 2012. They had a wonderful marriage for over 43 years. She was born in New Providence, daughter of the late Charles E. and Mary Bertha Myers Adams. She was a member of the Smithville Church of God. Jean enjoyed visiting relatives, playing cards and taking trips to the mountains. She was most fond of staying at her home where she could feed the birds and cats, cook and bake for family and take care of her flower beds. Jean enjoyed growing up in New Providence and told many stories of simpler times. Evelyn R. Probst, 87, of Drumore, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Oak Leaf Manor in Millersville. Born in Fulton Twp., she was the daughter of the late Vance and Naomi (Gore) Richardson. She was the loving wife of Kenneth H. Probst for over 61 years. Evelyn was a hard-working farm wife and business woman. She was an active member of Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church. Evelyn was active in the Fulton Grange, she also ran the Drumore Benefit Assoc. for many years and was the secretary for the Drumore Twp. Zoning Hearing Board for over 25 years. Nancy L. Bare, 63, of Oxford, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at home. Born in West Grove, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Zella Hill Bare. Nancy was formerly employed at Chester County Prison, Pepperidge Farms, Herr Foods and Oxford Bus Lot. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Mandy Wyatt (Larry) of Shelby, NC; one son, Dallas Shane Powers at home; a devoted grandmom to Michael Konopka of Shelby, NC, Callie Konopka of Hickory, NC, Zachary Wyatt of Shelby, NC (currently in Army) and Angelica Faith Wyatt “Jewels” of Shelby, NC; great grandmom this year to Bentley Alexander Dean Smith of Hickory, NC to whom she adored; one sister, Debbie Twohig; along with lots of nieces, nephews and cousins. Thelma Kreider Mitchell, 98, of the Glen at Willow Valley, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Born in Martic Twp., she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Verna (Shultz) Kreider. She was married to the late George R. Mitchell for 69 years at the time of his passing on December 30, 2011. Thelma was a homemaker who loved cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of New Providence Church of God. She also enjoyed spending time working outside at the family’s Smithville property. David C. Dull, age 69 of Quarryville, passed away at the UMPC in Lititz, PA on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. He was the husband of Linda J. Wagner Dull with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage with on March 25th. He was born in Quarryville, son of the late Rev. J. Richard Sr. & Helen Elizabeth Zander Dull. He was a member of the Wakefield Bible Church. In the past he owned and operated J. Richard Dull & Sons Inc. until transferring to his son. He had also drove truck for Lester Prange for many years. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Solanco High School class of 1968. He enjoyed singing and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Michael G. Kneisley, 79, of Willow Street, peacefully entered the arms of Jesus on Sunday, November 22, 2020 while at home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Michael H. and Eva (Lehman) Kneisley. He was the loving husband of Marlene (Walter) Kneisley for over 52 years. Michael had worked as the Produce Manager at the former Witmer’s IGA and Market Basket in Strasburg. Michael accepted Christ at Rawlinsville Camp Meeting and was a long-time member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church. Christian Lehman “Lem” Metzler, 75, of Willow Street, PA, transitioned into heaven on November 21, 2020. He was born September 11, 1945, in Holtwood, PA, to Christian Leaman and Anna (Walters) Metzler. He grew up on a farm in what is now Muddy Run Park. He was the husband of Alta Mae (Boll) Metzler. They were married on September 7, 1968. Lem graduated from Penn Manor High School in 1964 and from Penn State University, with a degree in agriculture education and a science certification, in 1968. He earned an MS in dairy science at Michigan State University and completed a Biblical studies certificate at Eastern Mennonite Seminary. Ruth E. Groff, age 100, formerly of Christiana, passed away at Oak Leaf Manor South of Millersville, on Saturday, November 21, 2020. She was the wife of the late J. William "Bill" Groff, who passed away on September 18, 1992. She was born in Cochranville, daughter of the late S. Guy & Edna M. Work Miller. She was an active member of the Mt. Pleasant/Georgetown United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, was secretary of the Administrative Council, United Methodist Women and the Board of Elections, she was also involved with the quilting group and with various other activities. Naaman E. King, age 91, of Atglen, PA, died at his home on Saturday, November 21, 2020. He was the husband of the late Marian Steffy King who died October 8th of this year. They celebrated 68 years of marriage on December 6th, 2019. Naaman was born in Atglen, the son of the late Isaac S. and Rebecca S. Mast King and was an active member in the churches he attended throughout his life. Most recently he was a member of the Parkesburg Mennonite Church. He enjoyed leading church music and teaching Sunday School. He loved inviting church visitors home for a meal. He and Marian had a deal; she would cook and he would do the socializing. They were a team. Henrietta C. Wallace, age 92, of Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, formally of Oxford, passed away on November 20, 2020. She was the wife of the late Charles J. Wallace who passed in 2002. Born in Chester County, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Criswell and Mabel Prange Criswell Watley. She was a Kitchen Manager at the Oxford Senior Center. Henrietta enjoyed cooking, all animals, volunteering at her church and at the Fulton Grange. She loved reading scriptures and most of all loved spending time with her family. |
