Raymond T. (Tom) Sexton, 81, of Oxford, PA, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024 at his home. He was the husband of Shirley Hensel Sexton with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. Born in Oxford, PA he was the son of the late Carl and Isabell Touchton Sexton. He worked on his father’s farm while attending high school. Tom was previously employed with Oxford Manufacturing Company and retired from Oxford Auto Parts after 40 years of service. He loved yard sales and collected NASCAR, old soda bottles and marbles. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Robin Sexton of Oxford; one sister, Carol Lewis of Oxford; two grandsons, David and Jesse; and one great-grandson, Cameron. Laurie Ann (O’Shea) Hardy, 62, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at her residence. She was the wife of Kenneth Dale “Buck” Hardy to whom she was married for 22 years. Born on December 27, 1961, in Queens, New York, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Audrey (Gunser) O’Shea. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Richard Shirk and his wife Jennifer, and Robert Shirk and his wife Jennifer and three grandchildren, Ulysses, Maverick, and Mabel. She was predeceased by her stepdaughter, Keyra Bryant. She is survived by her son-in-law Jarvis Bryant Sr. and Keyra and Jarvis’s children, Jarvis Jr., Javon, and Jamirra Bryant. Mary Ann Thomas, 79, of Little Britain, passed away at her home on April 26, 2024, after a lengthy illness. She died peacefully with family. Mary Ann was born August 26, 1944 in Oxford to the late Oscar and Ethel (Cregger) Bard. She was preceded in death by her husband David C. Thomas (1941-2020). They were married for 59 years. Mary Ann was a graduate of Oxford High School. She was employed for 27 years and retired from her husband’s business. She enjoyed traveling with Dave and was a big country music fan, spending many vacations in Nashville and surrounding areas. An avid photographer, she enjoyed taking wildlife photos. Kay Marie Reinhart, 92, formerly of Ronks, entered into rest on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. Born in Paradise, she was the daughter of the late J. Earl and Mary Margaret (Miller) Rice. She was the loving wife of Paul J. Reinhart for 67 years at the time of his passing in 2017. Kay was a graduate of Paradise High School. She was a longtime member of Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed being social, especially during her time working at Good ‘N Plenty Restaurant and the Amish Farm and House. She retired as a file clerk from Hartman, Underhill and Brubaker Law Firm. Frank Testa, known to many as Pastor Frank or Brother Frank, left his earthly body and entered the presence of his Lord and Savior April 23rd at 85 years of age. He was born September 5, 1938 in Guttenberg, New Jersey to Frank and Nancy Testa. He was the youngest of six children. He is survived by his sister, Gloria Mancini of Leola, and was preceded in death by brothers Bart, Jack, Joseph, and Robert. He leaves several nieces and nephews as well as numerous spiritual sons and daughters. From a very young age, Frank knew that he was called to fulltime ministry. Following high school, he studied at seminaries in both the US and Belgium where he diligently prepared to become “Father Testa.” After 13 years as a Catholic priest, he surrendered that title to work on the streets of Newark, NJ helping to care for the least, the last and the lost. During those years he married Joan McIntyre, a former nun, and together they ministered as a team both in America and around the world for over 40 years until her death in 2020. They initially worked with men in a residential program at Teen Challenge and then began a similar ministry known as The New Ark where they witnessed lives changed by the power of God. Brenda Kay Krauss, 70, of Oxford, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Jenners Pond Retirement Community, West Grove, PA. She was the beloved wife of Richard G. Krauss. Their fiftieth anniversary was celebrated in October 2023. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the youngest daughter of the late Marshall and Golden Gladys Cody Johnston. She was a noble caretaker and devoted daughter to both. Brenda, affectionately known as “Mimi,” enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her three grandsons; Mason Miles Butler, 23, Kline Russel Butler, 20 and Tyler Logan Delgott, 20. Her hobbies included entertaining family and friends. Many summer weekends were spent hosting crab feasts with Richard (a.k.a. Captain Dick). Joseph L. Leombrone, 78, of Oxford passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024 at his home. He was the husband of the late Louise M. Rosati Leombrone. Born in Washington, DC, he was one of six children of the late Joseph P. and Catherine Topar Leombrone. He is survived by one son, Joseph A. Leombrone; one daughter, Robin I. Leombrone; one grandson, Gavin J. Alber; and three siblings, Isabelle Leombrone, Marlene Austin and Camille Saltzgueber. Edith V. Tindall, 70, of Drumore, passed away at home, Friday, April 19, 2024. Born in Dover Plains, NY, she was the daughter of the late Augustus and Virginia (Silvernail) Rhodes. Edith attended Dover Plains High School and then started her family in New York before moving to Pennsylvania. Edith worked for many years as a home health caregiver for Home Helpers. Edith enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to travel, visiting some of her favorite places such as Key West and Alaska. In her younger days she loved dancing in the living room with her children, her sister and niece. Those days were talked about often as they were some of her favorite memories. Dr. Barbara M. “Barb” Jones, 82, of Quarryville, departed this life on Friday, April 19, 2024. She was the wife of the late Owen L. Jones, Sr., with whom she shared 21 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 1988. Born in Kenosha, WI, she was the daughter of the late Donald Frank Siver, Sr., and the late Margaret Lucy (Clarke) Siver-Lashway. Barb was a graduate of Kemper Hall in Kenosha, WI, class of 1959. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Ripon College in 1963, followed by attending Temple University, where she earned master’s and doctorate degrees. Barb made a career in the field of education, serving in roles of counselor, teacher, and supervisor. Following her retirement, she was employed as a receptionist in senior living settings. Sally M. Stees, age 83, passed away at the home of her son on Saturday, April 20, 2024. She was the wife of the late John Peter Stees, who passed away on December 2, 2022. She was born in Kansas City, MO, daughter of the late Harry & Jane Chiles McFarland. In the past she had worked as a dog groomer and massage therapist. She loved animals. Surviving are 2 sons: Peter Hutchinson Stees of Atglen, Andrew Clinton husband of Sara Smith Stees of Havre de Grace, MD, 3 grandchildren, 2 siblings: Judy wife of Bob Adams of Lincoln, MA and Bill husband of Sharon McFarland of Pottstown, PA. |
