![]() Carl J. Adams, 80, of Peach Bottom, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 while under the care of Hospice & Community Care. He was the husband of Jane (Richardson) Adams. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Carl was a cabinetmaker and worked for the former Oxford Cabinet Factory and later for the former Zell Brothers Woodworking. Carl enjoyed gardening and woodworking. ![]() Ronnie L. Glover, 71, of Quarryville, went home to be with the Lord after a brief battle with cancer on December 29, 2014 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Mt. Union, PA he was the son of the late John Glover. He is survived by his mother, Betty Walborn, Ronnie was a member of Mt. Eden Lutheran Church, Strasburg Sportsman’s Assoc., and the Operating Engineers Union. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching old movies. ![]() Marie E. Sell, 62, of Little Britain, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014. Marie was born in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Herb and Elizabeth Fortino Loudenslager. She was a 1970 graduate of St. Huberts High School for Girls, Philadelphia. Marie had worked as a shift manager for Burger King, Willow Street for 12 years. She enjoyed reading, tinkering with her flowers beds, spoiling her grand-dog, Walter, traveling around the country, and most importantly spending time with her family and friends. ![]() Emily L. Reath, 93, of Q.P.R.C., Quarryville, PA, formerly of Kirkwood, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. She was the wife of the late Robert B. Reath who passed away in 2007. Emily was a reading specialist with the Solanco School District, retiring in 1983. She was a graduate of the former Millersville State Teachers College. She was a member of Farm Woman #15, and enjoyed cross stitching and baking. Emily was a long time member of Bethany Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Nottingham, PA, and in later years attended First Presbyterian Church of Rising Sun, MD. ![]() Robert M. Sheaffer of Loop Rd., Quarryville, died on Sunday morning, December 14, 2014. He was 78. Mr. Sheaffer was born in Christiana, a son of the late Milton and Gertrude Moore Sheaffer. He had worked as a groundskeeper at Meadia Heights and Tanglewood golf courses. He then worked as a front end loader operator at American Infrastructure Quarry, Paradise. Mr. Sheaffer enjoyed his backyard pool, hunting, fishing, and following NASCAR. ![]() Nancy Frey of the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community died on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. She was 84. Mrs. Frey was born in Lampeter, the third child of the late Elmer and Catharine Mower Witmer. She grew up on the family farm and attended secretarial school. Mrs. Frey worked for the Lancaster Gas Company until she resigned to become a full-time mother and help on the family farm. She also worked at the West Willow Farmers' Association and as Pequea Township's secretary. She retired from the township in 2006. ![]() Martha T. Gibbs of Kirkwood died on Friday morning, December 5, 2014. Mrs. Gibbs was born in Olney, Md., and lived in Fulton, Howard County, Md. She attended St. Mary's College, St. Mary's, Md., and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, Md. Betty C. (Bean) DeRuiter, a resident of Petal, MS for over 50 years, born on June 9, 1920 was taken by our Lord on November 28, 2014. She was born in Lancaster, Pa and attended Wheaton College where she graduated Suma Cum Laude.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Red Wing, Minn., a daughter of the late Edward and Naomi White Knight. She had worked as a housekeeper for Birth Care and Family Health Services, Georgetown. ![]() Martha S. Winters of Kirkwood died at home on Sunday, November 30, 2014. She was 89. Mrs. Winters was born in Holtwood, a daughter of the late Daniel and Sara Sellers Stokes. She, her husband, and their sons worked the family farm. Mrs. Winters was a member of Union Presbyterian Church. She was a wonderful cook and avid gardener. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. Winters is survived by two sons, Donald E., husband of Gillian E. Winters of New York, and Michael A. Winters of Kirkwood; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. |
