Lydia B. Zook, age 69, of 5921 White Oak Road, Christiana, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at home.
She was the wife of Samuel F. Zook. Born in Christiana, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Fannie Blank Stoltzfus. Lydia was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. ![]() Mary R. Ranck, age 96 of Quarryville, PA, passed away at the Mt. Joy Hospice Center, on Thursday, June 18, 2020. She was the wife of the late Lester H. Ranck for 64 years, who passed away on April 10, 2009. She was born in Lititz, daughter of the late William & Anna Laura Root Todd. She was a member of the Mechanic Grove Mennonite Church, where she was a member of the sewing circle and the Happy Hearts Sunday School Class. In the past she had worked at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. She was a member of the Shi-Maids, a group of lifelong friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family. ![]() Kenneth B. Reed, 84, of Strasburg, passed away at home, Wednesday, June 17, 2020. Born in Bart Twp., Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Charles L. and Edna D. (Bowermaster) Reed. He was the loving husband for over 57 years to the late L. Emmarene “Jo” (Groff) Reed, who died in 2013. Ken was a 1954 graduate of Solanco High School. Following his graduation, he went on to work for Sperry New Holland as a welder where he retired in 1999. A faithful member of Lampeter Church of the Brethren, he took part in the Grief Share group. An avid reader, Ken enjoyed books on History. He was also an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting in Potter County and bird watching. Ken was also an accomplished pianist. And loved spending time in his flower garden. ![]() Donna I. Brenneman, age 84, of Quarryville, passed away at the Mennonite Home on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. She was the wife of the late John H. Brenneman. She was born in Paradise, daughter of the late Robert William and Thelma Adair Robinson Theis. Donna was employed in admissions for the Water Street Rescue Mission for 22 years. She was a member of Shiloh Community Fellowship Church. She served as a missionary, teaching English in Brazil for over two years, where she served with Wycliffe Jungle Aviation Fellowship. She was a member of the Quarryville Senior Citizens. Donna enjoyed reading, taking walks, spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and her grand dog. Christian F. Stoltzfoos, age 83 of 5083 Usner Road, Kinzers, PA, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.
He was the husband of Fannie Stoltzfus Swarey Stoltzfoos, the late Malinda Stoltzfus Stoltzfoos, and the late Mary Zook Glick Stoltzfoos. Born in Gordonville, he was the son of the late Jacob S. and Katie Fisher Stoltzfoos. Christian was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. ![]() Emma W. Rhoades, 91, of Lititz, passed away on June 16, 2020. Born in Colerain Twp., she was the daughter of the late Ezra and Anna (Book) Wissler. She was married to the late William J. Rhoades who died in 1993. Emma was a long-time resident of Southern Lancaster County until she moved to the Brethren Village Retirement Community in Lititz in 2003. She graduated from Colerain High School. Emma was employed at Lancaster County Board of Assistance for 20 years. She served in several positions in various community agencies. Emma was instrumental in establishing the Solanco Food Bank, now called Solanco Neighborhood Ministries, which still exists today, serving the needs of families in the Solanco Area. She served as secretary of the South East Health Center. Emma was a member of Wesley Church in Quarryville. She served on several committees including co-chairman of the Wesley Historical Society, along with Donald Ridley. ![]() Robert Joseph “Bobby” Hensel, 39, of Quarryville, entered into rest unexpectedly on Monday, June 15, 2020. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Ricky A. and Barbara S. Hensel-McFalls. Bobby was a graduate of Solanco High School Class of 1999. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. In addition to his parents, Bobby is survived by two children, Jasmine A. Hensel and Jacob A. Hensel; a brother, John J. McFalls, Sr.; a nephew, John J. “JJ” McFalls, Jr.; a paternal grandmother, Claudette Felczak; and a maternal grandmother, Lydia M. Hess. ![]() On Thursday, June 11, 2020, beloved father, husband and brother Darrell L. Dunn reunited with his love Mary C. (Howell) Dunn who proceeded him in death in November 2006. Darrell was born in Shouns, TN, son of the late Fred and Pearl Walsh Dunn. He died at his home in New Holland surrounded by his family just shy of his 80th birthday. He worked at Peach Bottom Power Plant later retiring from Day & Zimmerman. He owned and operated Tree Top Treasures. He was a lifetime Phillies fan, enjoyed auctions with his friends, working with his daughters operating Kirkwood Auction and variety of flea markets, and most of all, spending time with his family. Samuel M. Stoltzfus, age 96, of 326 Bartville Road, Kirkwood, PA, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 11, 2020.
He was the husband of the late Mary L. Riehl Stoltzfus and the late Barbara King Smucker Stoltzfus. He was born in Churchtown, son of the late Stephen & Rachel Stoltzfus Stoltzfus. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Katie K. Stoltzfus, 86, of 802 Mt. Pleasant Road, Honey Brook, passed away at home on Thursday, June 11, 2020.
She was the wife of the late John U. Stoltzfus who passed away in 2012. Born in Gordonville, she was the daughter of the late John M. And Barbara King Esh. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. |
