Kenneth Carl Miller, 32, of Quarryville, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017. He was the husband of Maggie Cumberland-Miller. Born in West Chester PA, a son of Kenneth Miller of Oxford, PA and Robin Mills, Kentucky. A family man, Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, Dale, Jr., Cowboys, and being outside. Carl was a gifted fine wood craftsman. Miriam M. Creter Sizemore, 82, of Cherry Hill Road, Peach Bottom, PA died Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Lancaster General Hospital. She and her husband Robert C. Sizemore were married for 63 years. Born in York County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Odella Harris Creter. A homemaker, she previously was employed by the former Hubley Toy Factory in her earlier years. She was a member of Ashville Bible Church, Oxford, PA. June M. Schlipf, 73, of Kirkwood PA, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017. She was the wife of George W. Schlipf.
Born in Shoemakersville, PA, a daughter of the late Vernon and Merle Horner Bixler. June had worked as a cake decorator at Ferguson and Hasslers Supermarket, Quarryville. She enjoyed baking and doing crafts. Marjorie Faye McCauley Eisenhart, of Dover, Pa., died Friday, February 17, 2017. She was 58. She was the wife of Doy Lee Eisenhart. Faye was born in Lancaster on September 7, 1958, daughter of R. Delmar and Majorie Broomall McCauley, of Quarryville. She was a 1976 graduate of Solanco High School and worked for Armstrong World Industries. Faye loved her family and especially her animals. Ralph William Haneman, 86, of Quarryville entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 16, 2017. He was the son of the late Paul and Helena (Horning) Haneman. He was predeceased by his first wife, Thelma, and his second wife, Geri. Ralph worked at WDAC-DC as the chief engineer for 52 years retiring in 2016. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and taught radar and radio communications. William E. Buffington, 74, of Quarryville passed away on February 23, 2017 at home, surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer. He was born in Kirkwood to the late Joseph and Alice (Brown) Buffington. He had been a truck driver for 56 years, having worked for Fast Track Express in Rising Sun, MD and J. Earl Keys Trucking in Nottingham. He was a member of the Professional Rodeo Association as well as several other horse clubs. Bill was especially fond of his horse, Skeeter and his cat, Tasha. Elaine Marie Kopinetz, 70 years old of Pine Grove, went home to be with the Lord Friday February 24, 2017 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Annabell Krieser. Elaine was the wife of late Oscar Freeling Ivlitchem 1975, and the late Charles Darwin Kopinetz 2009. Elaine grew up in Pine Grove and attended Pine Grove Area High School and in the graduating class of 1964. She worked at the Lebanon V. A. Hospital as a C.N.A. and at Micro Ingram. She was a member of the New Hope Wesleyan Church in Frackville and recently attended Wesley Church in Quarryville. In her spare time she liked to crochet and make special things for family and friends she also donated many items made to the local Food Bank, Bart Colerain Elementary School for their Christmas Store and to different local non-profit charities. Jeannette E. Meeder, 82, of Nottingham, formerly of Ogden, passed away February 23, 2017 in Jennersville Regional Hospital, West Grove.
She was the wife of the late Glenn O. Meeder, Sr. Born in Ridley Park, she was the daughter of the late Edward Grueninger and Elsie Heron McGinley. Jeanette enjoyed family dinners, baking, solitaire, watching game shows and playing rummy cube with her grandchildren. Lotei Maine Landis, a resident of Landis Homes, formerly of Quarryville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2017. Tei was the wife of Lee Landis who preceded her in death in 1954. She was the daughter of the late G. Joseph and Florence Maine. She graduated from Children’s Pediatric Hospital in Washington D.C. and worked as a pediatric RN at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lancaster. She was also a nurse and a teacher at Lancaster Day Care Nursery for over 30 years. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Church in Quarryville and enjoyed antiques, auctions, gardening, reading, and times spent with family. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Landis Homes for their loving and gentle care of Tei. Robert L. Roten, 67, of Lancaster and formerly of Oxford was embraced by the Lord on Thursday, February 23, 2017. Born in Lancaster, he was a son of Ralph Roten and the late Annis Marie (Miller) Roten. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol. Bob was a general mechanic and had worked for several area businesses. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles and surf fishing. |
