John D. "Jack" Woerth of Christiana died at home on Tuesday, October 29, 2013. He was 78.
Mr. Woerth was born in Christiana, a son of the late John and Emily Pickell Woerth. He founded Woerth's Body Shop in Nickel Mines in the early 1960s. In 1967, he moved the firm to a farm east of Nine Points, where he established Woerth's Used Cars. Mr. Woerth was a member of the Slumbering Groundhog Lodge, Waterloo Boys, Rough & Tumble, and the Bart Township Fire Company, where he served as president.  Claire Leake of White Oak Rd., Paradise, died at home on Monday, October 28, 2013. She was 80.
Mrs. Leake was born in Camden, N.J., a daughter of the late Gustave and Emma Eudora Van Zant Spielmeyer. She was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling and crafts.  Glenn V. Blantz of Stumptown Rd., Lancaster, died at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center on Sunday, October 27, 2013. He was 74.
Mr. Blantz was born in Warwick Township, a son of the late Walter and Katherine M. Drescher Blantz Sr. He worked as a welder and fabricator until he retired from Clean Burn in 2002.  Thelmas James "TJ" Phillips of Fawn Grove died on Monday, October 28, 2013. He was 83.
Mr. Phillips was born in Colerain Township, a son of the late Burris Zeb and Esther Stuart Phillips. He lived in Lancaster County before moving to Fawn Grove. He worked at Mill Print, Christiana, and on the family farm. While farming, he learned to operate the family's sawmill and eventually making that his career.  Edna E. Patrick of Oxford died at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, on Thursday, October 17, 2013. She was 91.
Mrs. Patrick was born in Goshen, Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Austin Granville Pierce and Leah Oneida Fry. She was a homemaker and worked part-time at Eagle's Mens Shop.  Cooper P. Redmond of Oxford died at Jennersville Regional Hospital, Jennersville, on Friday, October 18, 2013. He was 82.
Mr. Redmond was born in Wilmington, Del., a son of the late Cooper and Anna Rhoads Redmond. During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Jacob S. Zook of Christiana died at his daughter's home in Peach Bottom on Sunday, October 20, 2013.
He was 90. Mr. Zook was born in Ronks, a son of the late Isaac B. and Mary E. King Zook. Amos M. Stoltzfus of 269 Rosedale Rd., Christiana, died on Saturday, October 19, 2013. He was 46.
Mr. Stoltzfus was born in Bird In Hand, a son of the late Amos M. and Rachel Stoltzfus Stoltzfus. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Suzanne Mildred Tangert Edgell of Quarryville died at Lancashire Hall on Friday, October 25, 2013. She was 66.
Mrs. Edgell was born in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Harry Albert and Esther Mildred Fisher Tangert. Patty B. Massey of Kirkwood died at home on Friday, October 25, 2013.
She was 67. Mrs. Massey was born in Richlands, Va., a daughter of the late Roy and Ruby Gambill Looney. She lived in West Grove before moving to Kirkwood. |
