R. Delmar McCauley of Drumore Township died on Thursday, December 28, 2024 at Newport Meadows in Christiana, PA under hospice care. He was 90.
He was born in Southern Lancaster County on March 12, 1933 to the late Ross and Helen (Eckman) McCauley. He was the husband of Marjorie (Broomall) McCauley. Delmar was a lifelong farmer. William L. Adams, 68, of Quarryville died Tuesday, December 26 at Lancaster General Hospital12/28/2023
William L. Adams, 68, of Quarryville, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Peach Bottom, he was the son of the late Paul and Evelyn (Sheets) Adams. He was married to Theresa (Turner) Adams for 40 years. Bill drove truck for Waste Management and Eagle Disposal. He enjoyed antique and classic cars, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by 8 children: Jeff Cochran, Billy Adams, Jamie Adams, Billy Rice, Tara Taylor, Ashlee McWilliams, John Adams, Michael Adams; 21 grandchildren and a great-grandchild on the way. Mary B. Hoover, age 89 of Christiana, PA passed away at Newport Meadows under Hospice care on Sunday, December 24th, 2023. She was the wife of the late Jacob Hoover Jr. with whom she celebrated 59 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2013. She was born in Fulton Twp., Lancaster Co., the daughter of the late Emmanuel F. & Ruth (Neidlinger) Brown. She grew up in Downingtown, Chester Co. and graduated from Downingtown High School. She was a member of Georgetown United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Also, a life member of Bart Twp. Fire Co. Aux. and Solanco Senior Center. A homemaker until her children were raised, she then worked at Strasburg Soda Fountain & Strasburg Railroad. She retired as the manager of the Sweets & Treats Shop at Strasburg Railroad in 2004. She enjoyed crocheting and made countless items for family, friends, and various charities. Anna K. Stoltzfus, age 56 of 55 Clendenin Road, Quarryville, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at her home.
She was the wife of Aaron L. Stoltzfus. She was born in Lancaster, daughter of John L. and Rebecca B. King Miller of Leola. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Miller of Marticville, and Omar K. husband of Lydia K. Blank Miller of New Providence. Ruth M. (Dutton) Smoker, 82, of New Bridgeville, died Wednesday, December 6, 2023. She was the wife of Al Smoker to whom she was married for more than 60 years. Ruth was born Dec. 8, 1940 in Oxford, PA. She was the daughter of the late William and Ethel (Rineer) Dutton. She is also survived by her children, Sean Smoker and wife, Tracey of Red Lion, Todd Smoker and wife, Lisa of Red Lion, Shendy Smoker and companion, Barry Keller of York; three grandchildren, Cameron, Brody and Addie Smoker and two brothers, George Dutton of Holtwood and Dave Dutton of Oxford. James F. Golt, 84, of Nottingham, left this world on December 21, 2023, at Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford, PA. He was the loving husband of Lucille D. Golt. Together they were known as Fred and Lucy. A native of Carneys Point, NJ, he was the dutiful son of the late James E. and Emma F. Golt. He graduated from Penns Grove Regional High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He worked at the Hercules Research Center, starting out as a heating and air conditioning mechanic in the Mechanical Services Division. A multi-talented mechanic with troubleshooting ability, he was called “SUPER WRENCH”. He retired in 1999 as the Utilities Supervisor. In 1976, Fred and Lucy built their Bicentennial House in New London, PA, doing much of the work themselves. Conrad Lamar Bair, 65, of Peach Bottom, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023.
Born in Hanover, on November 12, 1958, he was the son of Lois (Ebersole) Bair and the late LeRoy H. Bair. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Daryl (Ruth) of Quarryville and Joel (Carolyn) of Lebanon; and two sisters, Freda (Royce) Sensenig of Grantville, and Regina (Ken) Schrock of Columbiana, OH. He was the beloved uncle of fourteen nephews and seven nieces. Cheryl A. Rendler, 64, of Nottingham, PA, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at home. She was the wife of Francis “Bo” C. Rendler with whom she shared 45 years of marriage. Born in West Grove, PA she was the daughter of the late Richard and Jean Buffington Arrowood. Cheryl was employed with Pocopson Home, West Chester, PA for 37 years as a certified nursing assistant and in the office of medical records. She was also an Avon Representative for 30 years. She is survived by her husband; one son, Randy C. Rendler (Betsy) of Buckingham, VA; seven grandchildren, Joel Figueroa (Hannah) of Kirkwood, Kelvin Figueroa of Oxford, Jonathan Figueroa of Oxford, Randy Rendler, Jr. of Shippensburg, Harley Rendler of Shippensburg, Wyatt Rendler of Buckingham, VA and David Werneth of FL; one great-grandson, Tru Emilio Figueroa of Kirkwood; one brother, Gary Arrowood (Ayshie) of Oregon, OH; six sisters, Deborah McComsey (John) of Christiana, PA, Linda Kilgore Herr (Keith) of Millersville, Bonnie Kennelly (Jim) of IA, Dottie Greer of Oxford, Denise Hilton (Tink) of Coatesville and Dena Arrowood of Oxford. Richard Eugene Boyer, 78, of Oxford Pennsylvania passed into the arms of his loving Savior on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Richard, or Dick as he was known to most people, was born on October 11, 1945, in Union Deposit, PA. He was the son of Robert and Alice Boyer, and a brother to 5 siblings. Dick graduated from Northern Lebanon Highschool in 1963 and then attended The King’s College in New York, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. While at King’s, he also played on the soccer team and met the love of his life, Patricia Nixon, who he married in March of 1969. A few years later he furthered his education at West Chester University, receiving his Master’s degree in Physical Education. Dick taught Science at his high school alma mater for 2 years before he accepted a job teaching P.E. in Oxford in 1971. He taught in the Oxford Area School District for 38 years before retiring in 2008, impacting thousands of students during his career there. He was the P.E. teacher to all students in grades 2, 3 and 4. He also conducted several before and after school intramural programs including soccer, basketball and gymnastics. His family fondly remembers being out anywhere with him, whether it was in Oxford or halfway across the country and hearing a former student say, “Mr. Boyer, is that you?” John Charles Lilley Jr, 82 of Oxford passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023, in his home. He now joins his wife, Kathy Jane Woodring Lilley, in heaven, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage. Born in Carlisle, PA, He was the son of the late John Charles Sr. and Violet Dewalt Lilley. He was also preceded in death by his sister Lois Ann Lilley Diehl (Bill). John graduated from Boiling Springs High School, where he was the first student band director, and West Chester State with a degree in Music Education. He taught instrumental music at the Oxford Intermediate School and Elk Ridge for 34 years. He was also the time clock operator for Oxford Sports, including 7th,8th, JV and Varsity Football, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls basketball, wrestling, and track and field, for 44 years. He was inducted into the Oxford High School Sports Wall of Fame in 2018 for his service. |
