James Douglas Brown, 70, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016. Born in West Chester, PA he was the son of the late James Wolf and Ethel Mae Brown. James was a veteran of the US Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, and played basketball, soccer and ran track in high school. Ronald Krassenstein, 75, of Peach Bottom, passed away on Saturday July 23, 2016 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania surrounded by his family. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Morris and Dorothy Krassenstein of Ventnor, N.J. He was a member of Nottingham Presbyterian Church. He volunteered at Jennersville Regional Hospital and Robert Fulton Fire Company. He was the dairy manager and retired from the University of Pennsylvania, New Bolton Center where he worked for 33 years. After retirement he fulfilled his dream of having his own farm. He enjoyed history, reading, tending to his flowers, caring for his herd and walking with his dog, Jack. Hunter Joseph Kyle, 2 month old infant son of William R. and Jessica Kyle, of Peach Bottom, PA went to be with God on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. He is survived by 9 siblings, Valerie Kyle, Edward Kyle, Michaela Kyle, Brianna Kyle, Brian Harper, Savannah Harper, Jeremiah Harper, Alexa Kyle, Melissa Johnson; grandparents, Robert and Renie French, William and Beatrice Harper, Joseph Morris, Tommy and Deborah Carr. Wilmer E. Fraver, 89, of Cochranville, PA passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Twin Pines Health Care Center, Chatham.
He was the husband of Mary Jane McComsey. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Glenn and Pauline Gordon Fraver. Wilmer was a veteran of the US Army and served during WW II. He was employed with GM Boxwood Plant for 33 years. Wilmer was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. He was mechanical and could fix just about anything. Wilmer enjoyed working with his hands, walking and collected clocks. Edna Mae Frey Keller, 82, Lancaster went home to be with the Lord on June 19, 2016 at Conestoga View surrounded by loved ones.
She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Ada Frey. She was the oldest daughter of 11 children and helped raiser her younger siblings. She was married to the late Ralph Keller and has four surviving children; Michael of Arizona, Barry of Lewistown, Jeffery of Littlestown and Penny of Lancaster. She is survived by seven grandchildren; Todd, Steven, Jolienne, Melissa, Barry, Lakelene, Geoffery and one great-grandchild, Noah. She is survived by sisters Ruth Jacob of Austin, Esther, wife of Ronnie Obetz, Lancaster; Nancy, wife of Russ Butler, Maryland and Linda Barton of Conestoga. In addition she is survived by brothers; Roy of Lancaster, Robert of York and Richard of Manheim. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Edwin Jr., Carl and Raymond. Mary Barbara Bolton, 97, formerly of Holtwood, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at St. Anne’s Retirement Community, Columbia, PA where she resided for the past 9 years. She was the widow of Wilmer P. “Bill” Bolton who died June 26, 2006. She was born in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Charles L. and Mary Goldbach Long. Mary was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Quarryville, PA. Throughout her life she had been employed by the former Brubaker Lumber Company, Darmstetter’s Store, Muddy Run Project, and Buck Iron. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and playing pinochle with her card club of 60 years. Surviving her are two daughters, Sister Anita Bolton of Sisters of the Holy Redeemer, Meadowbrook, PA, Mary Katherine “Kate” wife of Peter Tassmer of Strasburg; 2 grandchildren, Shannon (Tricia) Tassmer, Heather (Chris) Tyrrell; 4 great grandchildren, Brody Tassmer, Sander Tassmer, Logan Tyrrell, and Henry Tyrrell. Darryl E. “Dink” Howard, 57, of Lancaster, entered into rest on Monday, July 11, 2016 after a brief illness. He was the son of Shirley Howard and the late Miles Howard, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda.
Dink served our country in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of the Slumbering Groundhog Lodge. Dink was known for his strong work ethic and took great pride in his work as a crane operator. He was a devoted outdoorsman who loved working on the farm. He was a man of many talents and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. Carol E. Jenkins, 70, of the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community and formerly Kennett Square, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Kathryn (Gibson) Eastburn.
Carol worked as a secretary for The Pilot School in Wilmington, DE. Mary A. Coleman, 90, of Lancaster PA, formerly of Quarryville, PA passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016. She was the widow of the late John D. Coleman who passed away in 1990. Born in Columbia, PA, a daughter of the late Melvin and Mary Zook Minnich. Sara Janette Murphy Knight, 94, of Oak Leaf Manor in Millersville and formerly Lancaster, entered into rest on Friday, July 8, 2016. Born in Peach Bottom, she was the daughter of the late Jerry and Ethel (Fulton) Murphy. Her husband, George I. Knight died in 2006.
Sara was a homemaker that liked baking and decorating cakes, along with crocheting and quilting. She got the most enjoyment out of babysitting her grandchildren. Sara was a member of West Willow United Methodist Church. |
