Margaret E. Klonaris, age 88, of Atglen, PA, passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. She was the wife of James A. Klonaris, with whom she celebrated 64 years of marriage on August 17th. She was born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Edward J. & Margaret E. McGrath Ryan. In the past she was co-owner of the Grapevine Deli of Parkesburg and original co-owner of the Gap Diner. She enjoyed gardening and studying her bible. Surviving besides her husband are 4 daughters: Kathleen wife of Robin Coffroth of Christiana, Diane Klonaris fiancée of Ronald Young of Lancaster, Patricia wife of Jeffery Sauer of Quarryville, Pamela Klonaris of Parkesburg, 4 grandchildren: Jonathan Telepchak, Zachary Sauer, Shannon Sauer, Joseph Coffroth, 2 great grandchildren: Connor & Farrah Telepchak. Phyllis Ann Wiggins, 86, of Ventura, California, passed away on September 23, 2021, after a brief illness. Phyllis was born May 29, 1935 in Lancaster, PA to Joseph and Susan Hess. She graduated from Solanco High School in 1953. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Westchester State Teacher’s College and her Master’s degree from the University of Southern California. In 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, Earl Wiggins and in 1958, the couple moved to Fillmore, CA where they both joined the faculty of Fillmore High School. Phyllis taught for several years before leaving to raise her family. She carried many fond memories of her students and classes. In 1965, Phyllis and Earl moved to Ventura, CA where Earl had accepted a teaching position at Buena High School. Phyllis dedicated her life to her Lord, her family, her church, and her friends. She loved doing things for and with her family, including bike rides, picnics, camping and more. Her warm smile could light up a room and her infectious laugh was catching. Ever a people-person, Phyllis enjoyed corresponding with friends and family near and far and keeping up on their activities. She taught Sunday School, was a leader in Bible Study Fellowship, led AWANA Clubs (biblical discipleship for children), and was involved in many other church activities through the years. Ivan D. Metzler, 91, of Strasburg, entered into rest on Monday, September 27, 2021 at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. Born in Strasburg Twp., he was the son of the late Abram H. and E. Myrtle (Deiter) Metzler. He was the loving husband of the late Anna E. (Huber) Metzler for 63 years at the time of her passing on May 9, 2014. Ivan founded Metzler Mower Sales and Service in 1964. He remained active in the business until recently. He was known to faithfully come in and make coffee every morning. Ivan was an active member of Refton Brethren in Christ. He was also a 50-yr. member of the Strasburg Lions Club and was also a member of the Bunker Hill Hunting Camp in Tioga County. Ivan volunteered with Mennonite Disaster Services and also enjoyed restoring old mowers and tractors, as well as hunting. Vicente Hernandez Cortes, of Oxford, PA, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, September 24, 2021 at the age of 61. Vicente was born in Guanajuato, Mexico and moved to the United States at the age of 17. Vicente was an exceptional man who was loved by all of those who he met. Vicente was a man of Christian faith and was a licensed minister. He positively impacted everyone he met and was a soldier of God. He was truly a kid at heart and loved to play soccer, football, baseball, and horseshoes. His laugh and smile were infectious and will be remembered by all that knew him. He would not want anyone to be sad from his passing because he was so happy to be going to be with his Lord and Savior. He will be deeply missed by his family. Frank S. Laurento, "Frankie", age 40, of Christiana, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Monday, September 27, 2021. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of Debra Finchio Laurento of Coatesville and the late Frank J. Laurento, Jr. He was a self-employed antiques dealer who loved his work. He was formerly associated with the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Matthew J. Laurento of Coatesville, girlfriend Teresa Dinuova and her son Cole of Christiana, and his grandmother, Wanda Godfrey Ray of Erie. On August 15th Gloria went home with the lord, surrounded by those who loved her. She was born on May 22,1946 in Bridgeport Connecticut. Throughout her life she had many careers. She was proud to have served her community for many years as a paramedic. While living in Quarryville, her greatest joy was working with the children in the Solanco elementary school and later in the Solanco High School’s nurses office. After retirement, Gloria enjoyed meeting new people while employed at Musser’s Market’s, especially all the teenagers she worked with. She loved cooking, crafts, music and jewelry. Curtis Wilson, 85, of Quarryville, PA passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mildred Jeanell Buttrey Wilson with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. Born in Butler, TN he was the son of the late Alfred and Lola Eggers Wilson. He was a man who truly loved his family. He was a hardworking man. Many days before the sun rose and well after it set. He loved spending as much time as possible with all those that he loved. He loved his church and church family and visited often with his Pastor Ron Rush. Curtis was very special to many people, a husband, father, brother, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was Pop-Pop and will forever be in our hearts. Wanda Sue Craft, 74, of Nottingham, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Calvert Manor Health Care Center, Rising Sun, MD. She was the wife of Tom Craft with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. Born in Droop Mountain, WV, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Myrtle Kellison McMillan. She enjoyed reading and especially loved her grandchildren. Carl Norvick Hansen, Jr., 67, of Nottingham, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center, Camp Hill, PA. He was the husband of Patty Atwood Hansen with whom he shared 46 years of marriage. Born in West Grove, he was the son of the late Carl Norvick, Sr. and Esther Taylor Hansen. Carl was employed with N W Workman Trucking, Port Deposit, MD as a milk hauler. He was raised on a farm in Nottingham and farmed in his earlier years. He enjoyed debating politics. Harry Lloyd Findley, age 87 of New Providence, PA died Monday, September 27, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was married to the late Emma F. Findley for 30 years. Born in Providence Township he was the son of the late Andrew J. and Mabel Elizabeth Loump Findley. A farmer and landlord for all of his life, he was also employed in various jobs throughout his working career. Early in life he worked at Buck Iron, J. Miller Eshleman Paving, and a tobacco warehouse. He also was employed part time on the road crew for Providence Township for 17 years. |
