Caleb Anthony Beiler, stillborn son of Vernon S. and Lydia Rose Esch Beiler of Lynwood Road, Ronks, died on Saturday, September 25, 2021.
Anna Bawell Esh, 78, of Long View Drive, Narvon, PA went to be with her Lord and Savior as she passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 25, 2021.
She was the wife of John D. Esh. Born in Leola, PA she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Priscilla Smoker Bawell. A homemaker, Anna cooked and served meals in her home for a local bed and breakfast and other guests for 15 years. She also served as a missionary in the Dominican Republic with her husband from 2001-2003. Christopher P. Smucker, 8 year old son of Emanuel R. and Barbie King Smucker of 340A S. Belmont Road, Paradise, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021.
He attended the Old Order Amish Church with his parents. Alvin L. Blank, Sr., age 83, of Bernard Avenue, Cochranville, PA passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, September 24, 2021 following a brief illness. He was the husband of Marjorie Miller Blank. Born in Chester County, he was the son of the late Amos L. and Annie S. Lapp Blank. Alvin had been employed in sales for Charles Chips, and as a deliveryman for Orth Cleaners from which he retired. He enjoyed puzzles, gardening, and was an avid sports fan, especially the Phillies, Eagles, and Penn State. Louis D. Wood, III, 52, of Nottingham, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE. He was the husband of Kimberly McNiss Wood with whom he shared 33 years of marriage. Born in West Grove, he was the son of Louis D., II and Norma Price Wood of Nottingham. Louie graduated from Oxford Area High School, class of 1987. He was employed as a 2nd shift warehouse manager with Herr Foods, Nottingham for 36 years. Louie was a member of the Union Fire Company No. 1, Oxford for 32 years and served as Past Deputy Chief, Lieutenant, Captain and Driver. He was everyone’s “GoTo” person and could fix anything. He enjoyed cutting his yard, going to concerts, watching the Pittsburg Steelers football games with the love of his life, Kim, hunting and teaching his nephew all the ropes in life. John F. Lapp, stillborn son of Benuel K. Jr. husband of Sadie Fisher Lapp of 79 Springville Road, Quarryville passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
John Orr Kinnaird of Nottingham, PA, died at home of natural causes on September 3, 2021. Mr. Kinnaird’s death followed shortly after the death of his wife of 60 years, Bertha Lloyd Hunt on June 2nd. Mr. Kinnaird was cared for at home in his last months and was surrounded by his family in his final days. Mr. Kinnaird was born in Brookville, PA to Malissa Knappenberger and Malcolm Kinnaird. He was a graduate of the Milton Hershey School in central PA, and of The General Motors Institute. In the 1950’s John was specially selected for a one-time draft into the Sea Bees and served in Rhode Island. Returning to civilian life, he met his beloved wife, Bertha Lloyd Hunt, and they married on November 25, 1960. In 1968 John moved his growing family to Nottingham, PA. John spent the majority of his engineering career with the Sun Oil Company. He retired as Chief Project Engineer in 1992. Allen Thomas Jackson, 72, of Kirkwood, entered into rest on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Reading Hospital. Born in Wytheville, VA, he was the son of the late Douglas and Ruth (Ogle) Jackson. Allen was the companion of Donna McDowell for the past 23 years. Allen served our country in the U.S. Navy. He went on to work in the maintenance dept. at Hewlett Packard for over 25 years and had most recently been a driver for Ware Presbyterian Retirement Community. Allen had formerly been a volunteer firefighter with the Oxford Fire Co. He loved muscle cars, especially Corvettes and regularly watched Jimmy Sweigart. Most importantly, Allen valued his family and the time he spent with them. Joan E. Musser, 80, formerly of New Providence, entered into rest on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. Born in Smithville, she was the daughter of the late Clarence B. and Violet V. (Morrison) Albin. She was the loving wife of Cornelius “Neal” Musser for over 58 years. Joan was a homemaker and an active member of Smithville Church of God, where she taught Sunday school. She also led a Bible study for ladies in the community. She could often be seen tending her strawberry stand on Pennsy Road. Joan also enjoyed ceramics, reading, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Jacob S. Miller, 16 month old son of Christian L. and Mary Smucker Miller of 70 Oak Road, Kirkwood, passed away at home on Saturday, September 18, 2021.
