Page Elliott, 28, of Creedmoor, NC, died unexpectedly on Nov. 24, 2021 from injuries sustained in fall at home. Her loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened. Page Elizabeth Krauss was born on Feb. 17, 1993 to Mark and Carolyn Steele Krauss in Newark, DE, and they brought her home to Nottingham, PA. Page attended Oxford Area High School and Technical College High School and was passionate about cooking, graduating in 2011. Page was an exciting, crazy and fun loving young woman. Page struggled with alcoholism and substance abuse for the last 10 years, but she was always looking forward to a brighter future until she lost her longtime boyfriend in June 2021, unexpectedly and seems to never have recovered from this pain. Michael A. Housekeeper, age 59 of Quarryville, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at the Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Penny S. Farmer Housekeeper. Mike worked for Christiana Cabinetry and he was the Fire Police Captain for the Bart Fire Company Station 51. In his free time, he loved going hunting, fishing, and vacationing with his family. Surviving besides his wife are 4 children: Jennifer, wife of Don Church of Drumore, Amanda, wife of Josh Touchton of Bart, Ryan, husband of Stephanie Roten Housekeeper of Nottingham, Meghan Housekeeper, companion of Steve Butler of Quarryville, 12 grandchildren: Lane Church, fiancee of Abigail Roefaro, Harleigh, Lillie, and Daisy Church, Hunter and Mallie Touchton, Aubriana, Kendall, Paisley, and Dawson Housekeeper, Kaylee Willoughby, Cole McFadden, and 3 sisters: Sharon, Karen, and Kim. Leverne “Jerry” Lewis, 83, of Rising Sun, MD, formerly of Nottingham, entered into rest on Sunday, November 28, 2021. Born in Green Cove, VA, he was the son of the late Smith and Carrie (Daye) Lewis. He was the loving husband of Zella M. (Czerny) Lewis for 46 years. Jerry had worked as a foreman for Agway, primarily overseeing the construction of pole barns. He enjoyed carpentry, camping, NASCAR and trips to the casinos. Michael K. Watterson, age 62, formerly of Quarryville, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Neffsville Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Charles Kenneth and Mary Ann Pickle Watterson. He was employed as a truck and heavy equipment mechanic for Henry E. Martin and Penn DOT. Michael is survived by 2 children: Michael B. Watterson, Angie Watterson both of Lancaster, 3 grandchildren: Jimmie, Brianna, Elizabeth, 3 great-grandchildren: Zae'Veon, Zoella, Robert, and 2 siblings: Dennis L. (Tracy) Watterson of Columbia, Sr., Kimberly (Earl) Byerly of Lancaster. Lawrence N. “Larry” Whyte, Sr., 76, of Kirkwood, entered into rest at his home on Friday, November 26, 2021. Born in West Grove, he was the son of the late George E. and Erma (Williams) Whyte. He was the loving husband of Barbara L. (Mellinger) Whyte for 45 years. Larry was a graduate of Oxford High School. He had managed the Sunoco in Oxford for several years, where he had a parts delivery route and had worked for L.M. Prange Trucking Co. In 1986, Larry attended Mendenhall School of Auctioneering in North Carolina. He then began his career in auctioneering. He apprenticed under Larry Neuhauser for two years and in 1986 began volunteering as an auctioneer for the Hospice Labor Day Auction at the Lampeter Fair Grounds, which he continued until 2008. Larry owned and operated Whyte’s Auction Company. He was also a licensed appraiser and worked as a licensed real estate agent for Century 21, Coldwell Banker, and Berkshire-Hathaway. Larry was a property manager for State Wide Realty and also owned an advertisement specialty business, selling promotional items to businesses. Larry, along with Barb, was a stand-holder at Antique Village in Strasburg and they were also partners in Kirsch Antiques in Lititz. G. Preston LeFevre, Jr., 71, of Quarryville, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Newport Meadows. He was the beloved husband of Vickie L. (Dickel) LeFevre, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Granville Preston, Sr., and Lillian (DeLong) LeFevre. Preston was a graduate of Solanco High School, class of 1967. For many years he was a farmer on his family farm. He was also a truck driver for Edgar M. Herr for over 25 years. Kyle E. Cox, age 51 of Holtwood, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at home. He was the husband of Teresa McVey Cox. He was born in Jennersville, son of James H. and Linda J. Gindlesperger Cox of Holtwood. Kyle was a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Also surviving are 5 bonus children; Jessica wife of Christopher Carroll of Millersville, Danielle Brin of Lancaster, Lindsey wife of Austin Kellenberger of Pequea, Courtney Brin of Millersville, Kyle husband of Jessica Romanowski Brin of Ephrata, 5 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, a sister Wendy wife of Jeff Merilic of Virgina, and a niece, Brandi Merilic of Virgina. Charles A. Wenger, 94, of Allentown and formerly of Quarryville, entered into rest at the Phoebe Home on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
Born in Quarryville, he was the son of the late Charles K. and Elsie (Todd) Wenger. Charles served in the U.S. Navy and went on to retire as the Chief Pharmacist at the Allentown State Hospital. Charles loved the outdoors, small game hunting and especially fishing. He was a Phillies fan and was always fond of his Lancaster County roots. He is survived by a son, Todd C. Wenger of Garnet Valley, companion of Meredith Burnett and 3 grandchildren, Emily, Zachary, and Ava; and a great grandson, Parker. Joseph S. Yurick, age 80, of Christiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Christiana Hospital, DE. He was the husband of Carol Clark Yurick with whom he celebrated over 29 years of marriage. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the son of the late John and Rose Zubel Yurick. He loved his 2 Boston Terriers, Cassie and Callie. Surviving besides his wife are 6 children: Lee wife of Gary Richter of Oakley, CA, John Yurick of Cape Coral, FL, Kimberly wife of Dennis Cunningham of Christiana, Theresa Hardy of New Providence, Joe husband of Katelyn McCarraher, Christine wife of Michael Kahn both of Coatesville, 9 grandchildren; Abbey Richter, Kelsey, Ashley and Caleb Cunningham, Ryan and Craig Hardy, Ciara Cochran, Nathan and Lucas Yurick, a great-granddaughter, Madilynn Hardy, and a sister, Theresa Sullivan of Dayton, OH. Shirley L. Eckman, age 83, formerly of Intercourse, PA, passed away at the United Zion Retirement Community of Lititz on Thursday, November 25, 2021. She was the wife of the late Donald M. Eckman who passed away on August 13, 2001. She was born in Lancaster, daughter of the late Harold & Goldie Ressler Cramer. She graduated from Penn Manor High School class of 1957. She was known as The Busy Beader making handcrafted necklaces. Along with her husband she owned and operated Shirley L. Eckman Antiques. |
