Gail Chase of West Grove, Pennsylvania passed away at her home as she wished on Thursday, February 18, 2021. She was 59 years old. Born in Jennersville, Gail was the daughter of late Lovell T. Chase and Edna Kirk Chase. She was the beloved mother of Brian Shepard; sister of Linda C. Brown, Thomas K. Chase, Michael K. Chase and (Elizabeth) Faye White. Gail is also survived by her mother Edna Kirk Chase. A celebration of Gail's life is being planned for this spring. Additional information will be announced. Mabel Ann Gill, 85 years old, of College Park, MD, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Maryland. Born on August 3, 1935, in Pennsylvania Mabel was the daughter of the late Ernest Gill and Nellie Duncan Gill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her partner John Wilson, her siblings Wilmer Gill, John Gill, Mary Gill, Laura Gill, Millie Casimano, and her brother-in-laws Tom Neufell and Jim Hudgins. She is survived by; sisters Nellie Gill, Norma Neufell and Sara Hudgins, brother-in-law Nick Casimano, nephews Tom (and wife Jennifer) Neufell, Joe Neufell, Mike Neufell, and nieces Donna Neufell, Terri (and husband Mark) Wilkinson, Patti (and husband Kyle) Smith, Elaine Collyer, Gina (and husband Tom) Schell, Julie (and husband Mike) Carbiener and Mary Hudgins (and husband Ron), great nieces and nephews: Joe Jr., Casey, Tara, John, Matthew, Andrew, Ashley, Aleeya, Michael, Meghan, Maddie, Morgan, Dylan, Dominick, Jacob, Emma, and Andrew; cousins Pam Duncan Donnelly and Debra Duncan Roney, friends Rebecca Fraunch and her family and “Annie, the mail lady” who Mabel visited daily. With so many siblings and relatives, the memories of her life will live on forever with those who knew and loved her. Carlos L. Daye, 67, of New Providence, PA died Monday, February 22, 2021 at Hospice and Community Care, Mt Joy, PA. He and his wife Patti L Snider Daye celebrated 10 years of marriage. Born in Avondale, he was the son of the late Otis and Iola Roop Daye. Carlos was a member of Living Stones Fellowship Church. He had been employed as a foremen for Asplundh Tree Service. Roger N. Duvall, Jr., age 54, of Peach Bottom, PA, passed away of natural causes at his home on Sunday, February 21, 2021. He was the loving husband of Donna L. Horst Duvall with whom he celebrated 7 years of marriage. He was born in Lancaster, son of Judy Carr Houghton of Peach Bottom and the late Roger N. Duvall, Sr. He was also the step son of Patricia Duvall Holt wife of Ted Holt of Columbia. He was a graduate of Octorara High School class of 1984. Roger was a proud veteran of the Marine Corps. He worked as a truck driver for Pennsy Supply. Pearl L. Lapp, 88, of Lititz, died peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2021 at UPMC, Lititz.
Born in Atglen, she was the daughter of the late Elam G. and Naomi (Mast) Stoltzfus. She was the wife of Melvin G. Lapp. Pearl was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and hosting company. She loved Jesus and would share her faith freely whenever she had the opportunity. Pearl was a faithful and active member of Sandy Hill Community Church in Coatesville. Gwendolyn M. Sumner, 73, of Nottingham, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Chester County Hospital, West Chester. She was the wife of Barry O. Sumner. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Daniel and Eleanor McIntosh Prusinski. Gwen was retired from General Motors and Oxford Transportation. She had a passion for family, photography, scrapbooking, puzzles, feeding the birds, plants and her flower beds. Gwen really loved animals especially her dog who was her best friend, Coco. She loved her music, Alabama. The love she showed for her family and anyone who came across her was amazing, when she loved she loved hard. Gwen always wanted to see and believe the best of everyone and she never held a grudge. Gwen was “always” there for her children, Jack for his weekly Thursday night calls before going to horse shoes or Carole and her 100 phone calls a day. Gwen loved fixing up the home that she created with her loving husband, Barry. They enjoyed their retirement together with their dog, Coco. Gwen was proud of the home they created together; she finally had her dream. Gwen especially loved being a grandmother and a great grandmother. She spent a lot of time dedicating her love to her great grandchildren, crafting, drawing, baking and learning about nature and animals together. William “Bill” Roth Taylor, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on February 17, 2021 at the age of 87. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Upon graduation from Oxford Area High School, Bill enlisted in the US Army. When he returned from his service duties, he briefly worked for Chrysler Corporation. He left Chrysler to work for Barr and Smith Motors in Oxford, PA. When the opportunity arose, he and his wife, Esther became owners of Taylor’s Auto Service in Oxford. Bill was known for his quick wit and keen sense of humor. He could drive the darkness out of any situation with his enduring smile and the twinkle in his eye could light any room. He lived as if every moment was an opportunity to learn. His love of nature was reflected in his gardens and in his home. John M. "Jack" Keene, Jr., age 91, formerly of Chincoteague Island, VA, passed away at Traditions of Hershey on Friday, February 19, 2021. He was the husband of the late Dorothea S. "Dolly" Lawyer Keene, who passed away on December 6, 2008. He was born in Bart, PA, son of the late John M. Sr. & Hannah Gilbert Keene. He was a current member of Christ United Methodist Church of Chincoteague Island, VA and past member of Bellevue Presbyterian Church of Gap. He graduated from Solanco High School, class of 1948. He worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 35 years retiring in 1993, and then volunteered at the refuge on Assateague Island for 20 years. He was a member of the Christiana Masonic Lodge #417. He was a member of the Lanco Beagle Club of which he was secretary for some 20 years. Billy Joe Weaver, 83, of Peach Bottom, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Grassy Creek, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Quincy and Annie (Mahaffey) Weaver. He was the loving husband of Doris E. (Graybill) Weaver for over 62 years. Bill had worked for Wiley Manufacturing in Port Deposit, MD and had also worked for Sam Glick Builders. He retired from the Solanco School District, where he had worked as a custodian at Providence Elementary School. Bill was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Peach Bottom and also a founding member of the Wakefield Lions Club. Jean Louise Bolton Mimm, age 95, of Brethren Village, formerly of 501 Lampeter Road, West Lampeter Township, died Wednesday, February 17, 2021. Born on a farm in Sadsbury Township, Jean was the youngest child of the late Joseph Thomas Bolton Sr. and Martha Jane Miller Bolton. She was the wife of Harry C. Mimm Sr. who died in June 1985 and was the last of her immediate family. Jean worshipped at the Monterey Chapel and when she could no longer drive, she worshipped at the BV Chapel. She graduated from the former Bart Township High, class of 1940, where she enjoyed being on the basketball team. In earlier years, she worked at RCA. Jean enjoyed the pool at BV where she swam regularly and the Mermaid activities, the BV Choir, music, crossword puzzles, walking and game night. |
