Richard A. Kellogg Sr. of Airville died at the Lebanon VA Medical Center on Saturday, February 21, 2015. He was 83.
Mr. Kellogg was born in Turin, N.Y., a son of the late James F. and Viola Rudd Kellogg. He lived in New Providence before moving to Airville. During the Korean War, he served as a corporal in the U.S. Army. Mary E. Angeline of Landisville died at Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday, February 22, 2015. She was 75. Miss Angeline was born in Drumore Township, a daughter of the late John and Madeline Distefano Angeline. She graduated from Solanco High School. Miss Angeline worked for Armstrong World Industries for more than 40 years. She was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church and had been a parishioner at St. Catherine of Seina Catholic Church, Quarryville, for more than 20 years. Thomas C. Galbreath, 91, of Peach Bottom, PA went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2015. He was the husband of Shirley M. Feiler Galbreath for 63 years. He was the son of the late John M. and Edith Stubbs Galbreath. Tom was a lifelong farmer in Fulton Township. After retirement he worked for Fulton Township and served as their treasurer for several years. He was a lifelong member of Little Britain Presbyterian Church and belonged to Fulton Grange for over 65 years. In his youth he was very active in the Community 4H Program. Robert Steven Taylor, 63, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Oxford passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 in Phoenix, AZ.
He was the husband of the late Rose Albright Taylor and Janey Minder Taylor. Born in Jennersville, PA he was the son of the late James, Sr. and Bonnie Corum Taylor. He received his Associate of Arts degree with a major in Human Services in June, 2009. He was a member of the NWTF Assoc. Robert was employed as a case worker with Kelsch Assoc. for 20 years. He was part of the family living arrangement. He opened his home and heart to Matthew Goodley who resided with Robert for 8 years and Richard Gray for 5 years. They both called him dad. Ronald G. Parent Jr., 37, of New Providence, PA died on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Lancaster General Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born in Bethlehem, PA the son of Ronald G. and Patricia Michael Parent, Sr. of New Providence with whom he resided. Ron was a member of the Ancient Order of Croaking Frogs, Quarryville, the American Legion Post #0298 of Mifflintown, PA, the Patapsco Lodge #183 DeMolay where he served two terms as Master Council. He was a former member of Patapsco United Methodist Church and attended Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church, Quarryville, PA. Marian Gilbert Derr, age 88, of the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community since 2008 and formerly a life-long Quarryville resident, went to be with her Heavenly Father on February 17, 2015. She was a loving and good daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Born in Quarryville, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Jenkins) Gilbert. Marian was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth W. Derr. Marian was a 75 year member of the Memorial United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for over 40 years. She had been employed in the financial office of the former Watt & Shand department store in Lancaster. She loved to sing, listen to music, play the piano and organ, swim, go to the beach, and spend time with close friends. Her greatest enjoyment came from being with her family and she will be forever held in their hearts with love. Marcella R. Kleinstuber, 91, of the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015. Born in Wilmington, DE she was a daughter of the late, Thomas and June (Carter) Rednour. She was married to the late, William W. Kleinstuber.
Virginia Marie Anderson, 56, of Conowingo, MD, entered the gates of Heaven and received perfect healing on Monday, February 16, 2015. Virginia, known to many as Ginny, was born on March 5, 1958 in West Grove, PA to the late James Madison and Verna Marie Miller. Virginia greatly enjoyed serving others with loving kindness and hospitality. She worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for nearly 25 years at Calvary Christian Academy. Virginia was an active member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church, where she was involved in various ministries of the church. At home, she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and working with flowers. Virginia also enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. William C. Hickey of Little Britain Twp., formerly of Upper Chichester, died Tuesday, February 10 at Jennersville Hospital. He was 87. He was born in Twin Oaks to George and Myrna Hickey. He was raised and educated in Marcus Hook. Mr. Hickey worked for many years for the Sun Oil Company until his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 709, the Millington, Md., Moose Lodge, was an honorary member of the Friendship Fire Company and was a member of the Sun Honor Club. Shelva J. Thomas, 77, of New Providence, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at her home. Born in West Willow, she was a daughter of the late, Benjamin and Ethel (McKinney) Kreider. She was married to the late, Albert Thomas, Sr. who died in 2005. Shelva was an active member of Clearfield United Methodist Church. She had worked for Herr’s Cleaners for over 30 years and had more recently worked for Darrenkamps. |
