![]() Hester Rutledge, age 86, passed away at Oak Leaf Manor of Millersville, on Sunday, June 27, 2021. She was the wife of the late Earl Rutledge, Sr., who passed away on December 16, 2003. She was born in Manchester, KY, daughter of the late Joseph & Mallie Collett Smith. She attended the Worship Center of Leola. She enjoyed gardening, puzzles, and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. (McCoy) Johnson, 72, of Peach Bottom, entered into rest on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Hospice and Community Care. Born in Grayson, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Ned and Lottie (Roten) McCoy. She was the loving wife of Daniel Johnson for over 53 years. Louella retired from the Outback Trading Co. in Oxford in 2016, but was later brought back as a part-time consultant. She was a long-time member of Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren, where she enjoyed laughter, joy, and many friendships. She was active in the community, volunteering with Solanco Neighborhood Ministries and also Joy El’s Bible Adventure Program for Clermont Elementary students. Louella was a constant source of energy, love and strength to her family and those who knew her. Rachel K. Beiler, age 78, of 35 Salem Road, Kirkwood, PA, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021.
She was the wife of the late Amos E. Beiler, who passed away on August 11, 2019. She was born in Ronks, daughter of the late Joseph S. & Annie King Lapp. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Jane Swift, age 91, of Gap, passed away at the Lancaster General Hospital on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. he was the wife of the late William C. Swift, Sr., who passed away on December 3, 2017. She was born in Coatesville, daughter of the late Charles M. & Agnes Reel Thomas. She was a member of the Christiana United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was everything to her. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Paul W. and Anna (Eshleman) Weitzel. She was the loving wife of Merle "Squeak" Aukamp for over 67 years. Lois had worked at the former RCA in Lancaster and had also been a server at the former Rhoads Spanish Tavern in Quarryville. She drove school bus for Eshbach Bus Service for many years. ![]() Kenneth N. Bidwell, age 84 of Quarryville, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. He is the husband of Janet McMullen Bidwell and the late Cecil Lea Bidwell. Born in Oxford he was the son of the late Birchell Thomas and Luella Christina Hall Bidwell. He was a truck driver for a cement company in Kennet Square and also worked at a mushroom company for many years. He loved his two Yorkies, Ginger and Taffy. ![]() In the Lord’s timing, Vivian Myrtle (Wadsworth) Stackhouse, 103, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2021 at The Glen at Willow Valley, Lancaster. She was born in Phoenixville, PA in 1917 to the late Irvin Earl and Esther Anna Wadsworth. After graduating from Phoenixville High School, she went on to earn a BS degree in Education (Math & French) in 1938 from Temple University, home of the OWLS. Thus began her years of collecting owls. It’s no surprise that after collecting over 600 owls that she became affectionately known as the “Owl Lady” and “Owl Grandma”. ![]() Dawn Marie Bryant, 50, of Conowingo, MD, has been called home by her father, Archie Dean Sturgill, Sr. and her brother, Archie Dean Sturgill, Jr. on Thursday, June 17, 2021. She was the wife of Tommy Joe Bryant with whom she shared 25 years. Born in West Chester, PA she was the daughter of Rose Chapman Sturgill of Wakefield, PA and the late Archie Dean Sturgill, Sr. Dawn enjoyed shopping, going to the casinos, riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with. ![]() Mac A. Sizemore, age 79, of New Providence, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at his home. He was the husband of Ilene S. Balmer Sizemore for over 26 years. Born in Peach Bottom, he was the son of the late Edward and Molly Blevins Sizemore. Mac was an active member of Smithville Church of God. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating on Indian River, gardening and mowing. He was a very giving man who loved to bring joy to others with his sense of humor. He also loved taking care of others and spending time with his grandchildren. ![]() Marty Kennedy, 59, of North East, MD passed away Friday, June 18, 2021 at home. She was the wife of Scott Kennedy with whom she shared 34 years of marriage. Born in Homeville, PA she was the daughter of the late Sid and Helen Cohen. Marty grew up in Oxford, PA and as a young girl she spent a lot of time at her family’s cabin in Cross Forks, PA. She was a hard worker all her life. She was formerly employed with S&S Deli, Oxford, W.L. Gore, Jennersville Hospital and Kendall at Crosslands, just to name a few. |
