Harold 'Tom' Thomas Wooten Jr, 66, of Colora, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at his home. Born in Lancaster, PA to Harold, Sr and Janet (Mulvena) Wooten who preceded him in death. He graduated from Oxford Area High School in 1973 then went to Cecil College and earned his degree in ACAD. He was employed by Chrysler's Newark assembly plant until he retired after 30 years in 2007. He loved to ride his Harley, discuss politics and spend time with his children and grandchildren who called him 'Bumpa'. D. D. Robert "Bob" Russell, age 76 of Lancaster, PA, passed away at the Lancaster General Hospital on Friday, October 22, 2021.
He was the husband of Elizabeth M. "Betty" Martin Russell, with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage on March 21st. He was born in Lancaster, son of the late Harry & Arlene Bewley Russell. He attended Calvary Monument Bible Church of Paradise. He graduated from Octorara High School class of 1963. Bob drove truck for several local milk haulers and then retied from Andrews Excavating,Willow Street. He enjoyed big trucks and classic cars. Chester R. “Foxy” Wertz, 86, of Miller Road, Willow Street, PA died of COVID on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital. He and his wife Jacklyn D. Worth Wertz celebrated 66 years of marriage. Born in Providence Township on September 13, 1935, he was the son of the late Richard E. and Lula Doulin Wertz. A retired service technician after 45 years, he had been employed at Chevrolet and Pontiac dealerships. John Jack Dommel, 96, of Hilldale Road, Pequea, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Dorothy M. Hess Dommel who died December 18, 2011. Born in Lancaster he was the son of the late Joseph and Alice Bair Dommel. Jack had been employed and retired as a HVAC mechanic. A proud veteran, he served in combat in the US Army during WWII with Company “B”, 80th Tank Battalion, 8th Armored Division in France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, and Czechoslovakia. He was a member of Millersville VFW Post #7294. Lydia Mae Hess, 84, of Little Britain, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at her home. She was the loving wife of the late Robert J. Hess, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2017. Born in Nottingham, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Lula Mae (Caldwell) Jones. Lydia spent the majority of her working career as a machine operator for both Herr’s Potato Chips, and, in later years, Anderson’s Pretzel Bakery. For several years she and Robert owned and operated a mushroom growing business. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara McFalls and Chris Hutton, both of Little Britain, and Robin (Brad) MacMahon, of Harleysville; sister, Bonnie Little, of Maryland; brother, Willie Jones; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Mac Scott Duncan, newborn, went home in the arms of the Lord Jesus, Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at home. Born in Ephrata, PA he was the son of Scott Kelton and Andrea Lynne Nicholson Duncan. He is survived by his parents; one sister, Ella Nichole Duncan; two brothers, George John Duncan and Kelton Decker Duncan (his twin); paternal grandparents; George Decker and Nancy Scott Duncan of Oxford; and maternal grandparents, John Boyd and Evelyn Louise Nicholson of Starkville, MS. Paul A. Payne, 84, of Oxford, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at his home. Born in Pine Grove, he was the son of the late Grady S. and Dora (Latham) Payne. He was married to the late Joanne M. (Hagens) Payne for over 50 years at the time of her passing in 2012. Paul was a graduate of the former Quarryville High School. He retired from Chrysler Corp. in Newark, DE. Phyllis Lee Wooldridge, 69, formerly of Little Britain, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. She was the loving wife of the late James W. Wooldridge, with whom she shared 17 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2015. She was also the wife of the late Ronald E. Neff, Sr., who passed away in 1986. Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Vaughn E. and Viola (Hurley) Miller. Phyllis graduated high school in North Carolina. She worked as a CNA at Calvert Manor Healthcare Center for over 20 years. Ronald A. Nelson, 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Quarryville, PA on October 17, 2021 Born February 6, 1935 in Escanaba, MI to Theodore C. and Hildred (Carlson) Nelson, Ron spent his formative years living in Michigan, California, and Indiana. Employed as a draftsman while still in high school, he then worked on the Great Lakes ore boats for several years following his 1953 graduation from Roosevelt High School in East Chicago, IN. Ron earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1957 and was a proud Boilermaker alumnus. In 1957 he accepted a job as Service Engineer with Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, CA. This was a fortuitous move since it was in Southern California that he met his wife, Janet (Fry). They married in 1961 in Garden Grove, CA. Ron next worked for 30 years in various positions for Remington Rand/Sperry/Univac/Unisys that involved moves to Minnesota and California before Pennsylvania. During his tenure as Professional Staff Consultant serving international clients, he traveled to over 20 different countries and enjoyed seeing different parts of the world and learning about diverse cultures. At the end of his professional career, Ron was Product Manager and Technical Specialist for Decision Data. Georgia Grace Kneisley, passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of her mother’s womb. Georgia was the daughter of Aubrey J. Sheets and Cody H. Kneisley of Quarryville.
She was born sleeping peacefully at Women’s and Babies Hospital on 10/15/2021 at 9:36 AM. Georgia weighed 3.35 ounces and was 6.5 inches long. While in her Mommy’s belly, Georgia enjoyed sucking her thumb and rolling around from one side to another. She was beyond perfect. She had her Mommy’s nose and Daddy’s lips, she looked just like her big brother. Georgia was everything we could’ve wanted in a daughter and more. |
