Patricia A. Summers, age 68, of Christiana, passed away at her home on Thursday, October 14, 2021. She was the wife of Richard A. Summers, with whom she celebrated 39 years of marriage on September 10th. She was born in Coatesville, daughter of the late Robert W. and Clara C. McGinnis Bonsall. In the past she was a member of Latta Memorial Presbyterian Church and Media Chapel. Patty worked as a cashier at Dutch-Way Farm Market of Gap for 37 years. She graduated from Octorara High School. She enjoyed cats, flowers, the Christmas season, and going out to eat especially to Texas Roadhouse. Harold M. “Buzz” McVey, 76, of New Providence, entered into rest on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Lancashire Hall after a brief illness.
Born in Providence Twp., he was the son of the late Walter F. and Mary Elizabeth (Groff) McVey. David K. Lechner, 88, of Willow Street died at Lancaster General Hospital Wednesday, October 1310/18/2021
David K. Lechner, 88, of Willow Street, PA passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of Carmella A. Sterrantino Lechner for 65 years this August. Born in Springfield Gardens, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Minnie Sumpter Lechner. David retired from the former SS Fisher Steel Company in Pequea. He was a proud veteran, serving in the US Army during the Korean War. Patricia “Patti” Ann Fry, 59 years, of Conowingo, MD, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021 in York, PA. Born February 16, 1962 in Havre de Grace, MD, she was the daughter of the late Albert W. and Laura McCall McGuigan. Patti was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church of Port Deposit, MD, a member of the Eastern Amateur Arabian Horse Show Circuit, and a member of the Blue Ridge Arabian Horse Association. She was employed as a dental assistant by Dr. Shawn C. Brennan of Rising Sun, MD. Robert Clinton Overly, 69, of New Providence, PA passed away peacefully on October 12, 2021. Born in Lancaster, PA he was the son of the late Sherman and Ethel Irene Roland Overly. Robert was a retired printer for the former Quad Graphics. In his retirement, he was an Amish taxi driver. He enjoyed fishing, going to auctions and yard sales, but most of all his grandchildren. Joseph Leroy Pennington, age 73, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Joseph was born on May 17, 1948 to the late Kirby Smith Pennington and Lula Jones Pennington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Evalene King, Irene Fremuth, Goldie Price and brothers, John Pennington, Kirby Junior Pennington. Joseph was a good-hearted man who loved his children and grandchildren. He loved the Lord and attending church at Rock Creek Missionary Baptist Church. David Clyde Hubley, 60, of Magnolia, Delaware, passed away Sunday, October 10th, 2021. Dave was born on April 9th, 1961 to Clyde Hubley and Shirley Hathorn. He was raised in Oxford, Pennsylvania. Dave later attended Penn State University, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He was employed by Agilent Technologies, where he worked for over thirty years. Dave was a loving son, brother, husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather. He was passionate about his family, Penn State football, and the outdoors. Janet Lee McCardell Cole, 87 years, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 in the Hart Heritage Estates Assisted Living Center of Street, MD. Born June 23, 1934 in Liberty Grove, MD, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Helen B. McCardell.
Mrs. Cole was previously employed by the Hill Top Ranch of Colora, MD, and Morning Cheer, Inc., of North East, MD. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she enjoyed listening to Elvis gospel music. Mrs. Cole is survived by her daughters, Susan E. Cole McGlothlin of Rising Sun, MD, and Carol D. Cole and fiancé, Scott Reburn of Rising Sun, MD; and three grandsons, Anthony Brooks, Richard McGlothlin, and Scott Cole; granddaughter, Monica Cole. George G. Omerly, III, 91, of Quarryville, entered his Heavenly home on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. He was the beloved husband of Audrey M. (Palmer) Omerly, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late George G. and Catharine (Riggs) Omerly, II. George graduated high school in California. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. George went on to attend college and earn a bachelor’s degree in business, attend seminary to earn a master’s degree, and through much diligent work he earned a doctorate degree in Old Testament Hebrew. George was an ordained minister, serving as a missionary to spread the gospel to the indigenous Inca Indian people in Peru. Aaron L. Fisher, age 88, of Ronks, passed away at his home on Friday, October 8, 2021. He was the devoted husband of Rebecca A. Stoltzfus Fisher, with whom he would have celebrated 67 years of marriage on November 23rd. He was born in Ronks, son of the late Samuel M. & Rebecca King Fisher. He was a member of Calvary Monument Bible Church of Paradise. Aaron was self employed as a cabinetmaker. He enjoyed hunting especially turkey and going to his cabin in Potter County. He was known to be able to fix anything. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. |
