![]() Loretta K. Bueche, of Willow Street, was warmly welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on the morning of Monday, May 6, 2024, at the age of 68. She was the beloved wife of J. Thomas Bueche, with whom she would have celebrated their 34th anniversary this year. Born in Gordonsville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Laurence T. and Lorraine (Tomasin) Killen. At age five, Loretta’s family moved to Phillipsburg in Central Pennsylvania. After graduating from Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School, Loretta soon embarked on many adventures. She first traveled to Washington, D.C., and worked for the Federal Government’s Voice of America. Next, she traveled to Garrison, NY, to live and counsel at the Walter Hoving Home for Girls. She then traveled to Gaithersburg, MD, and became a church secretary at Silver Spring Christian Community Church. Sensing a call from God, she participated in a church planting in Lancaster, PA, and moved to Lancaster in 1982. Loretta went on to become the church secretary for Lancaster Covenant Church, now Crossway Church of Lancaster, where she met a young man named Tom Bueche. They were married in 1990 and started a family. Loretta didn’t put on airs. She was down-to-earth. In sincerity, love, and strength from God she strove to be the best she could be for the people in her life, be they family or friend. She served her close friend and local artist, Jeannette “Yvonne” Inman, through the miraculous final years of Jeannette’s life as a stage-four breast cancer patient. Right up to the last day of her life, she dearly loved Jeannette’s children, their spouses, and their children. Also special to Loretta was a foreign student, Wang Qi (William), who is as family and has called her house home for six years. Loretta served at her local polling place as a Judge of Elections and later as Minority Inspector.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Travis Bueche, husband of Caitlyn, of Dallastown; daughters, Pamela Koiro, wife of Andrew, of Lancaster, Kimberly Bueche, fiancée of Scotty Andrew, of Robesonia, and Angela Bueche, wife of Matthew King, of Akron; and grandchildren, Travis, Aubrey, Ellianna, Paisley, James, Georgia, and Thomas. She is also survived by brothers, Bob Killen, of Utah, and Larry Killen, husband of Sherry, of Tiger, GA; sisters, Lorraine Allen, of San Angelo, TX, Linda Smith, wife of William, of San Antonio, TX, and Muriel Anderson, wife of Mark, of San Angelo, TX; and a mother-in-law, Kay Bueche, of Willow Street.
