Robert Morrison Sr. of Conestoga View, Lancaster, died at home on Thursday, June 19, 2014. He was 92. Mr. Morrison was born in Mount Nebo, a son of the late Oscar J. and Mabel E. Weidley Morrison. He lived in New Providence before moving to Conestoga View. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. Dorothy H. Crawford of the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, died at home on Tuesday, December 31, 2013. She was 91. Mrs. Crawford was born in Kirkwood, a daughter of the late George A. and Dora Sherman Hogg. She lived in Kirkwood before moving to the Masonic Village. She worked as cafeteria coordinator for the Solanco School District for 15 years and as cafeteria manager for the school district for 10 years. She retired in 1985. Stephen W. Sizemore of Brabson Ln., Peach Bottom, died at Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday, November 17, 2013, following a long battle with lung disease. He was 53. Mr. Sizemore was born in Lancaster, a son of Robert C. and Miriam M. Creter Sizemore of Peach Bottom. He worked as a welder for Buck Iron Co. for 33 years before retiring on disability in 2012. Mr. Sizemore was an avid truck and car enthusiast who enjoyed working on vehicles, following NASCAR, and going to car shows. He also enjoyed going to Green Dragon with his sister, Patti Jo. Bonnie W. Herr of The Glen at Willow Valley died on Monday, November 18, 2013. She was 95. Mrs. Herr was born in Fleetwood, N.C., a daughter of the late Judson E. and Effie Smith Wagner. She lived in Kirkwood before moving to Willow Valley. She graduated from Quarryville High School and continued her studies at Goldey Beacom College in Delaware. Mrs. Herr worked as executive secretary for the former Quarryville National Bank and helped her husband on the family farm. Sharon L. Helsel Brenchley of New Providence died at home on Sunday, November 17, 2013. She was 65. Mrs. Brenchley was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Earl W. and Marjorie L. Miller Helsel. She worked in the family's trucking business, managing the office and riding with her husband and two sons. Mrs. Brenchley attended Byerland Mennonite Church, where she taught Sunday School. Mary Urbano of Quarryville died on Sunday, November 10, 2013. She was 82. Mrs. Urbano was born in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Henry and Concetta DiMarco Selvaggi. She worked as an aide at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. Mrs. Urbano enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Quarryville. Grace Ann Flahart of New Providence died on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. She was 87. Mrs. Flahart was born in East Drumore Township, a daughter of the late Parke C. and Orella Moss Eshleman. She graduated from Drumore and Quarryville high schools. Mrs. Flahart was a member of Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church. She was a school bus driver. Linna B. Eller of Peach Bottom died at Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford, on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. She was 86. Mrs. Eller was born in Chilhowie, Va., a daughter of the late Walter J. and Mary Caudell Pickle. She was a member of the Baptist View Church, Jarrettsville, Md. She had also been a member of the Tucquan Lions Club. Mrs. Eller enjoyed cooking, gardening, caring for others, and spending time with her family. Glenn V. Blantz of Stumptown Rd., Lancaster, died at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center on Sunday, October 27, 2013. He was 74. Mr. Blantz was born in Warwick Township, a son of the late Walter and Katherine M. Drescher Blantz Sr. He worked as a welder and fabricator until he retired from Clean Burn in 2002. Thelmas James "TJ" Phillips of Fawn Grove died on Monday, October 28, 2013. He was 83. Mr. Phillips was born in Colerain Township, a son of the late Burris Zeb and Esther Stuart Phillips. He lived in Lancaster County before moving to Fawn Grove. He worked at Mill Print, Christiana, and on the family farm. While farming, he learned to operate the family's sawmill and eventually making that his career. |
