Lillian R. Green of Quarry Rd., Peach Bottom, died at the home of her daughter, Dorothy DuBree on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. She was 93. Mrs. Green was born in Rowlandsville, Md., a daughter of the late William and Mary Jane Bullock Kyle. She had attended the Solanco Senior Center. Edward Eugene Lehman died at Lancaster General Hospital on Friday, February 28, 2014. He was 32. Mr. Lehman was the son of Cheryl J. Shank Lehman and the late Thomas E. Lehman Sr. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Thomas E., husband of Laura Lehman; three sisters, Alicia Lehman, Gina, wife of Wayne Owens, and Melissa Nye; 13 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Donald K. Herr of Quarryville died at Lancaster General Hospital on Saturday, March 8, 2014. He was 61. Mr. Herr was born in New Providence, a son of Betty Jane Henry Herr and the late Claude J. Herr. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Herr worked for the North American Pipe Company for more than 32 years. Therese C. Howery of Oxford died at Harrison House, Christiana, on Saturday, March 1, 2014. She was 83. Mrs. Howery was born in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Zita Martin Speicher. Matthew John Mullins of E. Philadelphia St., York, died in York on Sunday, March 2, 2014. He was 27. Mr. Mullins was born in West Chester, a son of Susan Walker Mullins and Gerald Johnson of Kennett Square and Ricky Mullins of West Grove. He worked as a general maintenance mechanic for an auto dealership in York. Marguerite "Peg" O. Reardon of Willow Street died at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community on Thursday, February 27, 2014. She was 95. Mrs. Reardon was born in Fulton Township, a daughter of the late Granville and Ethel Pierce Overly. She was a graduate of Quarryville High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Millersville University. BettyJane Miller of New Providence died on Friday, February 21, 2014. She was 66. Mrs. Miller was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., a daughter of the late Jack and Dorothy Maxwell. She spent much of her life in Tampa, Fla. She enjoyed country music, traveling, and spending time with her friends and her dog, Toby. Kenneth K. Mellinger of Peach Bottom died on Wednesday, February 26, 2014. He was 62. Mr. Mellinger was born in Strasburg, a son of Ernest and Mim Mellinger and the late Ruth Keener Mellinger. He worked as a farmer until he retired and was also an excavator. Mr. Mellinger enjoyed spending time at his home on the Chesapeake Bay, where he was known as the "Crystal Beach handyman." Mary Lou Herman of Quarryville died at home on Wednesday, February 26, 2014. She was 83. Mrs. Herman was born in Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Raymond and Naomi Abel Hake. She worked for R.C.A. in Lancaster; Hubley Toys, Lancaster; and Tidy Products, Quarryville. She also worked as a nurse's aide for Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community for more than 20 years. Anna Mary Groff of Quarryville died at Lancaster General Hospital on Monday, February 24, 2014. She was 94. Mrs. Groff was born in Paradise, a daughter of the late William and Anna Winters Showers. She worked as a seamstress in several local garment factories, including Zimmerman's Garment Factory, Strasburg. |
