Nicholas R. Dewey, age 47, of Christiana, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023, as the result of a vehicle accident. He was the husband of Nancy Dewey, with whom he would have celebrated 26 years of marriage on November 22nd. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, son of Kenneth Dewey of Wilkes-Barre and Barbara Miner Dennis wife of Bruce Dennis of Hometown, PA. He graduated from Wilkes University with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering in 2002 and had a successful career working for the Department of Defense at Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division. He was an active member of the Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church. Nick enjoyed working on home projects and sharing stories of his past, but he loved spending time with his family most.
He is survived by his wife of almost 26 years, Nancy Dewey, 47, who he cherished and adored, and 13 children: Nicholas P. Dewey, 24, Emily R. Troop, 23, wife of Maxwell K. Troop, 24, Lillian I. Dewey, 21, fiancé of Wade E. Blevins, 20, Matthew R. Dewey, 20, Gabrielle K. Dewey, 18, long-term girlfriend of Lucas J. Moore, 19, Madeline S. Dewey, 16, Lucas M. Dewey, 14, Zachary R. Dewey, 12, Vivianne M. Dewey, 10, Jonathan J. Dewey, 9, Benjamin N. Dewey, 8, Olivia M. Dewey, 6, Elizabeth W. Dewey, 4, his grandson Elliott R. Troop, 11 mo., an expected grandchild due May 2024, his 3 siblings: Kenneth M. Dewey, 50, husband of Amy M. Dewey, Brian J. Dewey, 42, Sarah K. Dewey, 41, and his 4 nephews and 6 nieces. He is remembered for being hard-working, patient, kind, selfless, good-humored, dependable, compassionate, humble, pious, and above all having a servant’s heart. Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church will be hosting a celebration of life service at 303 West Christine Road, Nottingham PA, on Saturday, October 21st at 10 a.m. with a time to greet the family following the service.
