Marianne Walter, 80, of Airville, PA, and wife of Donald C. Walter, passed onto her eternal home on Friday, June 5th, 2015. Marianne was the daughter of the late Fred W. and Mary (Rohrer) Linton of Quarryville, PA. Donald and Marianne were married for 61 years. Marianne was the mother of five children: Donna Downs (Dave), Carol Laucks (Steve), Roger (Lori), Brenda Rains (Dale), and Annette Keeney (Jim); Grandmother of six: Shawn Waltimyer (Kellie), Kelly Downs, Andrew Downs, Brooke Keeney, Tyler Keeney, and Chance Rains; Great Grandmother of two: Isaac and Annika Waltimyer. She also will be missed by her loyal canine companion Scooter. Marianne is also survived by her sisters, Arlene (Linton) Hastings and Rose Marie (Linton) Moore, and brother Fred Linton Jr. as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Shortly after their marriage, Marianne and Donnie moved to New Providence, PA where they raised their family on a small farm before relocating to York County. Their farming in York County consisted of crops, beef, goats, and for a short time, dairy cattle. Marianne enjoyed spending time with her family and family gatherings. She was a lover of flowers, birds and all animals. Her best times were spent in her flower gardens or tending to her goats. She loved baking Whoopie Pies, which her family greatly enjoyed. She crocheted and donated hundreds of baby items to Caps of Love. In her earlier years, Marianne was a 4-H leader in both Lancaster and York counties. She retired from Penn State Cooperative Association - DHIA as a milk tester. Marianne served as Church Elder and Treasurer at Chanceford Presbyterian Church, and participated in Golden Girls and the 8 O'clock Circle. Marianne lost a courageous 5-year battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma with her family by her side.
Memorial contributions may be made to either Chanceford Presbyterian Church (Rt. 425 & Kennedy Road, Airville, PA 17302) or hospice of your choice. Friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Chanceford Presbyterian Church, Rt. 425 & Kennedy Road, Airville, PA. There will be a viewing held Thursday evening from 6-8:00 PM, at Reynolds Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 144 East State Street, Quarryville, PA.
