Marian E. Lefever of Landis Homes, Lititz, and formerly of the Buck died Friday, March 16, 2018. She was married to Richard B. Lefever on Nov. 2, 1946 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2012. Born on August 20, 1923, in Silver Spring, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Minerva Brechbill Nolt. She graduated from East Hempfield High School, attended Temple University and graduated from Millersville University. After graduation she taught math at Lampeter Strasburg School District, then substitute taught in Solanco School District and also taught summer school sessions and homebound students in the Quarryville area. Marian was a longtime member of the Readers Hour Book Club, Farm Women #17, Fulton Grange, and New Providence Church of God where she taught Sunday school, directed the choir, and played the organ and piano. She also was a bookkeeper for Wenger Implement. Marian will be remembered for her gracious and kind ways. She welcomed many into her home offering wonderful meals, homemade candy, and hospitality that made everyone feel like family. She delighted in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; they treasure their memories of her. Surviving are children J. Thomas (Patty) Lefever of the Buck, Ann Lefever of Quarryville, Wayne R. (Jan) Lefever of the Buck; 5 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and siblings, Jem (the late Dewey) Nelson, Frank “Bud” (Shirley) Nolt, and Mary (Al) Mortemore.
She was preceded in death by her sister and brother in law Hazel and Henry Riest and her grandson Mark D. Lefever. A memorial service honoring her life will be held at New Providence Church of God, 269 Cinder Road, New Providence, PA on Saturday, March 24, 2017 at 2:00PM. An informal greeting time will be held following the service. Traditional interment was private. Kindly omit flowers.
