Kenneth L. Swinehart, age 79 of Cochranville, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 3, 2023 at his home. He was the companion of the late Patricia Ann Caudill for 32 years before her passing. Born in Kinzers, he was the son of the late Paul L. Sr. and Della Watson Swinehart. He drove truck for Lukens Steel for 40 years before retiring. He was a farmer & butchered with his family most of his life. Pat & Ken also raised peacocks for many years. In the late 60's and early 70's he co-owned a gun shop called K and G Reloading in Pomeroy. In his free time, Ken loved going to the family cabin in the mountains, hunting, and riding his Harley. Surviving are 2 daughters; Karen Griffith (Randy) of Pomeroy, and Kendra Swinehart (Harold Coldiron) of Cochranville, 5 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters; Cora N. "Patsy" Swinehart Ranck (Clair) of Strasburg, and Celene C. Swinehart (Larry) of Millersville.
He was preceded in death by 2 great-grandsons, and 2 siblings, Betty Lou Butler Lindell and Paul L. Swinehart, Jr. A funeral service will take place at Reynolds & Shivery Funeral Home, 144 East State Street, Quarryville, on Saturday, April 8th at 11 a.m.with a viewing time from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Mark Thibodeaux will be officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Hope United Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ken's honor to Penn Medicine Hospice, 3535 Market Street, Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
