Keith E. Wittig formerly of Sawmill Road, Strasburg, died Thursday December 7, 2017 at Masonic Village under the care of Hospice from complications of Parkinson Disease. Keith was the life partner of John C. Rintz for over 47 years. Born in Bridgeport, CT he was the son of the late Ralph L. Wittig and the late Anne Holt Wittig. Keith was a member of Mt. Eden Lutheran Church, Quarryville, PA and Longwood Gardens. His hobbies and enjoyments were varied, from enjoying horseback riding in his younger years to having a summer place and boating at Chestnut Point Marina in Perryville, MD. Many trips to friends cabin in Waterville, PA and annual trips to the ocean at Rehoboth Beach, DE. Keith loved working and maintaining things around the property, growing his own vegetables in the garden. A talented artist, he enjoyed his studio in his barn and had at one time had been employed as a display artist for Wanamaker’s in Philadelphia. Most of all, Keith loved and enjoyed all the kids in his extended family. Surviving beside his life partner John are 10 nieces and nephews, 14 great nieces and nephews; numerous cousins, and a sister in law, Jean Godfrey Wittig of Washington, DC. And his beloved border collie Kelly girl. He was preceded in death by his brother R. Curt Wittig who passed in 2011.

Also, a special thank you to the very caring kind staff of the Masonic Village Hospice. Everyone at Masonic Village was a precious gift to us both. A celebration of Keith’s life will be held at Mt Eden Lutheran Church, 1241 May Post Office Road, Quarryville, PA on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 3:00PM with Rev. Don Costlow officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 2:00PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Keith’s memory to Mt. Eden Lutheran Church, 1241 May Post Office Road, Quarryville, PA, 17566 or to Masonic Village, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
