John A. Wagner, 81, of Little Britain Township, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of June L. (Carroll) Wagner, sharing 25 years of marriage together. Born in Little Britain Township, he was the son of the late Howard D. and Esther (Wenger) Wagner. John was a graduate of Solanco High School, class of 1953. In his early days John was an electrician, wiring many homes in the community. He then became a refrigeration mechanic, first employed by Triangle Refrigeration, and later for his own company, working for over 25 years. John had a love for gardening, and he was well known for raising blueberries. He was also a handyman, able to fix most anything that was broken. In addition to his wife, John is survived by his brothers, Charles (Edna) Wagner and Robert (Joyce) Wagner, both of Quarryville; brothers-in-law, Bill Evans, of Lititz, and James (Ruth) Lefever, of Kirkwood. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, his trusty German Shepherd, Lady, and trusty Chihuahua, Sadie. He was predeceased by his sisters, Grace Evans, Anna Lefever, and Catherine Wagner.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017, at Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren, 1392 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA, 17566, with a viewing at the church from 10 – 11 a.m. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
