G. Wilson Harris, 89, of Manheim PA, passed away on June 3, 2015 at Pleasant View Retirement Community following a lengthy illness. He and his wife Marian Griest Harris celebrated 63 years of marriage until her passing on May 2, 2010. He was born in Colora, MD a son of the late James Wilson and Ida Lewis Harris. Wilson had been employed as a portable feed mill operator for Herr’s Mill in Nottingham for 15 years. He then worked in maintenance for Agway Inc. in Manheim for 22 years, retiring in 1988. Wilson was also instrumental in working with his wife in her business, the Bridal Boutique in Manheim. He was the ideal dad, assisting and working with his sons on their various projects. He was also an avid Phillies fan. Surviving are 3 sons, Robert C. (Trudee) Davis, Jr. of Austintown, OH, Lester E. (Kathryn) Davis, Sr. of Peach Bottom, Jack L. (Linda) Harris, of Manheim; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a sister Janet Griest of Quarryville.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Marian Morrison and Lois McVey; and 4 brothers, Robert Harris, Rodney Harris, and twin brothers Herman and Harold Harris. Funeral services will be at Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, 1068 Chestnut Level Road, Quarryville, PA on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. William Netting officiating. Interment will follow in Eastland Friends Burying Ground. A viewing will be held at the church from 10:00AM until the time of service.
