G. Frank Gore, 79, of Peach Bottom, entered into rest on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Born in Elkton, MD, he was the son of the late Charles F. and Ethel M. (Van Dyke) Gore. His wife, Naomi “Snookie” (McCauley) Gore died in 2012. Frank started working for Powl’s Feed Services at the age of 16 and then went to serve his country in the U.S Army. After returning home, he continued working at Powl’s for over 27 years. After Powl’s, Frank went to work for Little Britain Township before retiring in 2016. Frank was a hard worker and could often be seen helping out the local farmers. One of his passions was working on and collecting two-cylinder tractors. Frank is survived by a son, John W. Gore, of Peach Bottom; and daughters, Robin, wife of Troy C. Jones, of Nottingham, and Connie S. Gore, companion of Chip Johnson, of Airville, along with 2 grandsons, Derrick and Bryce, husband of Stuart Landis. Also surviving are 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and his four-legged friend, “Buddy/Red”. Frank was preceded in death by a brother.
Services celebrating Frank’s life will be on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren, 1392 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA beginning at 11:00 am followed by interment and military honors in the adjoining cemetery. There will be an opportunity for friends to greet the family immediately following the services.
