Dorothy E. Vesey, 82, of Willow Street, formerly of Richmond, VA and Sterling, VA, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. She was the loving wife of the late John Barnett Vesey, with whom she shared 40 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2002. Born in Saugerties, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Cotton) Lasher. Dorothy was a high school graduate and attended a one-room schoolhouse in Saugerties, NY. She then went on to attend The King’s College in Briarcliff Manor, NY, and graduate with a bachelor’s degree in civics. In addition to caring for her family and her home, Dorothy worked in the field of Christian Education, serving as a teacher in various schools and also helping to establish a school in New Jersey. She was known for working with children and working in children’s ministry. She is survived by her children, Erika Albright and husband Richard, of Allentown, PA, Timothy Vesey and wife Kimberly, of Willow Street, W. Konrad Vesey and wife Nancy, of Columbia, MD, and Karin Mamrick and husband Ronald, of Richmond, VA; a brother, Thomas Lasher and wife Margie, of Saugerties, NY; and 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Lasher, and a sister, Eleanor Henkel.
