Donald M. Eshleman, 85, formerly of Holtwood, entered into rest on Monday, December 7, 2015. Born in Lancaster County, Donald was the son of the late Parke and Orella (Moss) Eshleman. Donald was married in 1955 to Alyce Jean (Adams) Eshleman until her passing in 1986. “Don” loved dancing, photography, garage sales, collecting political items, yardwork and especially his flowers. “Uncle Don” loved ice skating, sledding, riding amusement park rides, and checking out Christmas lights and decorations. “Dad” loved the beach, building the treehouse and eating ice cream. “Donnie” loved chatting and exchanging memories and leaving his “surprise” packages at their door. “Poppy” loved his four-legged grand dogs and everyone else’s. Don served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He had worked for Henry Brothers Excavating, Eschbach Bus Service and F&M College.
He is survived by a daughter, Pamela Jean, wife of Dennis Hossler of Holtwood and a sister, Lois J. Myers of Quarryville. He was preceded in death by brothers; Johnny and Richard along with a sister, Grace Flahart. As per Don’s wishes, an informal graveside service will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery, 1530 Slate Hill Road, Peach Bottom, PA on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM.
