Donald B. Martin, of Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community and formerly of Holtwood, died on Monday, May 5, 2014. He was 85. Mr. Martin was born in Drumore Township, son of the late J. Percy and Lula Brabson Martin. He and his late brother Ira were lifelong partners, working on the family farm where they were born. A quiet man, he enjoyed music, WWII history, nature and his family. He was a faithful life member of Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church. Mr. Martin is survived by his sister, Jean Martin, of Brethren Village, along with several nieces, nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, J. Percy, Walter and Ira Martin. Services celebrating Donald's life will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 2 p.m. from the Ellingsworth Auditorium located in the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, 625 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, with the Reverend Dr. Michael Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Chestnut Level Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the auditorium from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, 1068 Chestnut Level Drive, Quarryville, PA or to Meals-on-Wheels, 73 Mt.
