Danny L. Adams, 71, of Quarryville, passed away Wednesday, January 1 at Lancaster General Hospital1/7/2020
Danny L. Adams, 71, of Quarryville, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Frankfort, IN, he was the son of the late Hubert H. Adams and the late Emma L. (Sallee) Hancottee. Danny was a career truck driver, having been employed by Lester M. Prange and most recently for Fast Track Express Trucking. After retiring from truck driving, he provided transportation to the Amish, making many friends in the Amish community. Danny always had an interest in cars and he was a NHRA drag racing enthusiast. He spent a lot of time at Cecil County Dragway and he also watched drag racing events on TV. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and listening to old-school country music. Danny loved his family, and his daughter and grandchildren affectionately called him “Grampy”. He was known for his good sense of humor. Having resisted getting a pet cat for many years, Danny finally gave in and acquired a cat, Gusman Adams, and they became inseparable friends. He is survived by a daughter, Lynn M. Sexton, of Peach Bottom; sisters, Margy Latham and Josie Weaver, both of Little Britain; brother, Orbia Adams, and wife Sharon, of Conowingo; grandchildren, Carly Sexton, of Philadelphia, and Blake and Gavin Hodgden, both of Peach Bottom; and a very good friend, Flo Hanna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby, John, and Steve Adams; sister, Brenda McCormick; great-granddaughter, Ryan Elizabeth Glanzmann; and a stepfather, Richard Hancotte.
A Memorial Service will be held at noon on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Pilottown Road, Peach Bottom, PA 17563, with a time to visit with the family from 11 a.m. – noon. Interment will be private. Kindly omit flowers.
