Chester Elias Wissler, Jr., 92, of Holtwood, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 17, 2023. Born in Mt. Nebo, he was the son of the late Chester E. Sr., and Hattie B. (Wissler) Wissler. He was the loving husband of Jane (Cauler) Wissler for 68 years. Chet was born and raised in Mt. Nebo and was a life-long member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in the Korean War. He went on to work for the former RCA, retiring after 35 years of employment. He spent 25 years serving with the Millersville Area Meals on Wheels. Chet and Jane traveled extensively throughout the United States and parts of Europe and also took mission trips to Africa. Chet was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time at R.B. Winter State Park and the family cabin in Clinton County. Above all, he loved being with his family. In addition to his beloved wife, Chet is survived by 3 children: Mark (Margaret) Wissler, Wayne (Kathleen) Wissler, and Kathleen (Glenn) Miller; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren with one of the way; and a brother, Paul (Kathleen) Wissler. He was preceded in death by 3 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will take place at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, 673 Martic Heights Dr., Pequea, PA on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 12 noon. The family will receive friends after the service during the luncheon in the church’s fellowship hall. Traditional interment will be private in the adjoining cemetery, prior to the service.
