Beatrice Boyce Schreiber, 89, of Quarryville, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2017 while under the care of Hospice and Community Care and the staff of Brethren Village. Born and raised in Collins, south of Quarryville, she was a daughter of the late Melvin C. and Mary H.S. Boyce. She was married to Charles Schreiber Jr. for 38 years until his death in September 1987. Beatrice (Bebe) graduated as a registered nurse in 1949 from Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing. She was office nurse for Robert Helm M. D. in Quarryville for many years. She also worked for Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community and as a private duty nurse for many residents and friends in the southern Lancaster County area. After returning to Millersville University, she received her B.S. degree in 1972 and was nurse in the Solanco School District for 21 years until her retirement in 1993. Bebe is survived by two daughters, Diane, wife of David Nichols, Peach Bottom, and Suzanne, wife of Alan Over, Lancaster. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Charles Nichols, husband of Mary Eshbach Nichols, Elizabeth Nichols Smith, wife of Steve Smith, and Sarah Over Ostrander, wife of Chris Ostrander. She was great-grandmother to Elaina and Isaac Smith.
Bebe was a member of Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and family gatherings. Bebe's surviving siblings are Robert Boyce and Melvin Boyce Jr, husband of Nancy Boyce. She was preceded in death by her older sister, Patricia Shunk. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bebe's Memorial Service on Thursday, September 14 at 11am at Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren 1392 Robert Fulton Hwy. Quarryville, PA. Visitation with family will begin at 10am. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
