Vincent William Pucher, 79, of Oxford, PA passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Christiana Care Union Hospital, Elkton, MD. He was the husband of Rose M. Broomell with whom he shared 31 years of marriage. Born in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Vincent Leopold and Florence Brigerman Pucher. Vincent’s military career spanned 32 years. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War. He also served in the Army National Guard Delaware as a grade Chief Warrant Officer (CW4) retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #194 Rising Sun, MD and Cecil County Memorial VFW Post 6027, North East, MD. Vincent enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycle and fast cars. Pauline L. Rohrer, 88, of Quarryville, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 23, 2022.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late P. Mylin and Emma A. (Kauffman) Lefever. She was the loving wife of the late Nelson G. Rohrer for 67 years at the time of his passing in 2021. Pauline was a homemaker and member of Bethel Mennonite Church. Carolyn E. Landis, age 76 of Christiana, passed away at her home on Sunday, October 2, 2022. She was the wife of J. Kenneth Landis, with whom she celebrated 56 years of marriage on May 28th. She was born in Lancaster, daughter of the late Nathan E. and Viola M. Shoemaker Blough. She was one of the founding members of Andrews Bridge Christian Fellowship, where she taught Sunday School and was involved with the Titus 2 Ladies. She graduated from Solanco High School, class of 1964. She worked at Vintage Sale Stables for 21 years and High Industries for 14 years. Joyce D. Sheaffer, 85, formerly of Drumore and Lancaster, passed away peacefully with her children by her side at Moravian Manor on Thursday, September 29. Joyce was the beloved wife of the late Oliver R. Sheaffer, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, Joyce was the daughter of the late Samuel F. and Mary (Good) Dengler. She was a 1955 graduate of J. P. McCaskey High School. Joyce worked as a secretary with Radio Corporation of America (RCA) and held a few part-time jobs over the years, but her greatest role was being a mother. Joyce is survived by her children, daughter Kimberly and husband Ronald Good, of Drumore and son, Oliver Scott and girlfriend Terry Wilson of Lancaster. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Joyce was predeceased by her sister, Hazel M. Moon, and brother, Richard F. Dengler. Joyce was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, Willow Street, PA. She enjoyed spending time at the shore, helping in the garden, reading, singing and music, knitting, playing cards and Bingo, decorating for the holidays, hearing the antics of her “grand-pups,” and being with her family. Arthur F. “Sonny” Boyd, Jr. age 83 of Peach Bottom, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at his home. He was the husband of Lynn Dickens Boyd with whom he celebrated 37 years of marriage on August 24th. Born in Yorklyn, DE, he was the son of the late Arthur F. Sr. and Laura Rigler Boyd. He was a professional truck driver for 33 years at A. Duie Pyle with a 32 year safety driving record. And he had numerous 1st place wins in the Truck Rodeo that he was proud of. Sonny was a member of the West Grove Hunt Club for 60+ Years. He was an avid hunter and loved spending his time in the mountains in Sweet Valley, PA in Luzerne Co. He also dearly loved his two dogs Benji and Bear. Surviving besides his wife are 5 children: Arthur F. “Skip” Boyd, III of Gap, Darlene E. “Dee” Selk of Longneck, DE, Karen L. Wilkinson of North East, MD, William J. “Bill” Boyd, of Middle River, MD and Christine M. “Chrissy” Walker, of Essex, MD, 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a sister: Patricia Boyd of Columbia, TN. |
