Roger D. Mimm, 79, of Georgetown Road, Quarryville, PA passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Newport Meadows, Christiana, PA.
He was the husband of Theresa Flaud Mimm. Born in Quarryville, he was the son of the late Leo and Blanche Eberly Mimm. Roger retired from Case New Holland where he was employed in the shipping/receiving department. Ruthie F. King, 5 hour old infant daughter of John S. and Mary S. Fisher King, of 681 N. Little Britain Road, Quarryville, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Ephrata Hospital.
Doris L. Kneisley, 92, of Conestoga, peacefully entered into the arms of her Lord on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at her daughter’s home in New Providence. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Charles P. and Beatrice (Kline) Campbell. She was the loving wife of the late Roy G. Kneisley who passed away on April 24, 2021. Early in life, Doris had worked for Richards Photo Studio in Lancaster. She then worked as the Bookkeeper for her husband’s construction business. Doris was a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, where she helped in the 2-year-old Sunday school class for many years. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for both the Rawlinsville Camp Meeting and the Conestoga Fire Co. Doris loved flowers and vegetable gardening and was known to bless neighbors and friends with her abundance of produce. She enjoyed cross stitch and word searches. Most of all, Doris enjoyed hosting family gatherings at her home and at their cabin in Potter County. Thomas J. "Turba Tom" Borrell, Jr., 37, of Quarryville died in Crossville TN Friday, July 298/4/2022
Thomas J. "Turba Tom" Borrell, Jr., age 37 of Quarryville, passed away due to an accident in Crossville, TN, on Friday, July 29, 2022. He was born in Newark, DE, at Christiana Hospital, son of Thomas J. & Kathleen Ruoss Borrell of Cochranville. He graduated from Octorara High School and the Center for Arts & Technology Class of 2004 and Williamson Trade School Class of 2007 majoring in Power Plant Technology. He worked at Exelon, now Constellation, as a maintenance mechanic in the Hydro Division. He was an Eagle Scout in Troop #63 of Cochranville. He enjoyed hunting and doing crossword and sudoku puzzles. He was a member of IBEW Local 614 and Tall Pines Club. In his early 30’s diesel performance caught Thomas’ attention and he ran with it. It soon became his life. He built and fabricated his own pro street drag truck while documenting his build over the course of several years while gaining 20,000+ followers. His work ethic and never give up attitude will carry on his legacy for years to come. Gerald (Jerry) A. Miller, 75, of Quarryville, passed away after a long illness on Friday, July 29, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family. Born on May 24, 1947, he was the son of the late Aaron and Dorothy (Graver) Miller. He was the husband of Karen (Warfel) Miller, with whom he shared over 51 years of marriage. Jerry graduated from Solanco High School in 1965, and the following year was drafted into the U.S. Army. He spent most of his two years of active duty in Babenhausen, Germany, in the A Battery, 2nd Battalion of the 5th Artillery unit, and went on to serve four more years in the Reserves before being honorably discharged. A talented welder and sheet metal fabricator, Jerry enjoyed a 35-year career at Goodhart Sons, Inc. in Leola before retiring as Plant Superintendent in 2005. He then started a second career at Bass Mechanical, Inc. in Elizabethtown, where he spent eight years as the Vice President of Fabrication. Never one to stop working, he spent three additional years serving as a consultant to Kercher Industries in Lebanon. |
