Gregory N. “Greg” Groff, 76, of Quarryville, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Stavroula “Roula” (Michalopoulou) Groff, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Haines N. and Vivien L. (LeFevre) Groff. Greg was a graduate of Solanco High School, class of 1962. After high school he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1963 to 1967, earning the rank of Sergeant. He then went on to be employed by Lancaster Press for his entire working career, where he worked his way up from apprentice to master printer status. Dalin Charles Appel, son of the late Edward C. and Ruth Anne Yuninger Appel passed away on July 27, 2021 at the Lancaster General Hospital at age 53. Mr. Appel was a member of Leacock Presbyterian Church, Paradise. He graduated from Conestoga Valley High School. He attended West Virginia Wesleyan University where he became involved in theatre and participated in several plays. He wrote poetry and plays. Rebecca, also known as Becky, Becca or Beck, 77, of New Providence, PA, entered into rest early in the morning on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Brethren Village, after a brief illness. Becca was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Hambleton, on December 5, 2011. Born in Lancaster, October 19, 1943, she was the daughter of the late John H. Musser and Charlotte Garner Musser. She graduated from Solanco High School, Class of 1961 and attended West Chester University. She also attended the Lancaster School of Business. Becca worked at Hubley Manufacturing Company of Lancaster and the Linen Hope Chest, a gift shop in Lancaster. She retired from the family business, Mussers’ Supermarket at the Buck, after 38 years of service. |
