Wilburt S. “Dubby” Harris, III, age 76, of Fairview Road, New Providence died on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. He and his wife Virginia C. “Jinny” Haynes Harris were married for 14 years. Born in Salem, NJ, he was the son of Wilburt S. and Vera Tarpine Harris, Jr. Dubby was employed as a crane operator for High Steel Structures from which he retired. Frederick K. Dettinger, age 86 of Paradise, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at the Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Marianne L. Dettinger who passed away on November 7, 2019. Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Karl and Hedwig Dettinger. In his free time, Fred loved fishing, baking, reading, gardening, and going to the casino. Christian B. Glick, Jr., age 44 of 233 Old Dam Road, Christiana, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020 at his home.
He was the husband of Emma M. King Glick. Born in Smoketown, he was the son of Christian B. And Sarah Kauffman Glick of Smoketown. Christian was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Surviving besides his wife and parents are 7 children: Barbie Ann, Kathryn Kaye, David Isaac, Rosanna K. Michael Jay, Sally Mae, and Allan. K. Stoltzfus of Paradise. Betty Louise Whiteside Weicksel, age 96, formerly of Kirkwood, died Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. She was the widow of Robert E. Weicksel who died October 9, 2012. Betty was born in Lancaster, a daughter of the late J. Fred and Jean Ellen Schwinehart Whiteside. Betty’s working career was multifaceted, working as an office manager for Whiteside & Weicksel Feed Mill, dealing in antiques, working as a switchboard operator, real estate, and as a medical transcriptionist. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, Kirkwood, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon, Missionary Association President, and sang with the church choir. She was also a member and Past President of Farm women #15, the Colerain Grange, and was a 4-H Leader. |
