Jere W. Lintner, 80, of Peach Bottom, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at LGH. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Luther and Anna (Troop) Lintner. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Herr) Lintner with whom he shared over 57 years of marriage. He worked at Armstrong World Industries for over 30 years. Daniel Blair Spencer, 78, of Oxford passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE. He was the husband of Cindy Sherota Spencer with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Kyle E. and Okie C. Hash Spencer. Daniel was a veteran of the US Army, 1st Infantry Division and he proudly served in the Vietnam War. He was employed with Cedar Knoll Builders for 15 years after retiring from General Motors Boxwood Plant, Wilmington DE after 30 years. He enjoyed collecting old coins and antiques. He loved old tractors, classic cars, hot-rodding around town and jamming to good music. Daniel was a master on the drums and also a great singer in two different bands. He loved telling jokes and would do just about anything to see others smile. Jacqueline Farra Slauch, 97, a life-long resident of Oxford, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at the Jenners Pond Assisted Living Facility in West Grove, PA. She shared 66 years of marriage with her late husband, Leon T. Slauch. Born in Oxford, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Genevieve McClurg Farra. Jacqueline graduated “best all-around student” from Oxford High School in 1943. She attended West Chester State Teachers College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education in 1948. She went on to earn a master’s degree from West Chester State College and Temple University. Jacqueline taught music for 2 years at the Atlantic City School District and retired from the Kennett Square School District as a music teacher after 22 years of service. Patricia Bringhurst Reed, 85, a resident of Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community (QPRC), went home to be with her Lord on June 7, 2023. She was born in West Chester, the daughter of the late Dr. Louis S. and Ann W. Bringhurst. She graduated from Westtown Friends Boarding School and received her B.A. from Mount Holyoke College. While enrolled at the college, she spent her junior year abroad at the University of London. Ms. Reed worked for over 20 years as a project director in the field of employee satisfaction surveys. She also served as the Editor for Westtown School’s bicentennial book, Westtown in Word and Deed. During her years at QPRC, Ms. Reed served on the Residents’ Council. She had been a volunteer with the local Bible Adventure (formerly Released Time) program. She was a member of Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church in Quarryville. James E. Seats, 66, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Hospice and Community Care. Born in Parkesburg, he was the son of the late J. Edward and Laura (Manley) Seats and the step-son of Betty Seats. James is survived by his loving wife, Joyce (Aukamp) Seats. They celebrated 33 years of marriage in May. Jim was a 1975 graduate of Solanco High School and a member of Timberline Church in Strasburg. He had worked for Exide Corp. in Lampeter for over 35 years and most recently was employed by C.T.D.I. in Coatesville. Jim enjoyed traveling and bowling with the “Friday Nite Mixed Nuts”. Clyde A. Dubble, age 97, formally of Quarryville, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023 at The Glen at Willow Valley in Lancaster. He was the husband of the late Miriam Weaver Dubble and the late June K. Roop Dubble. He was born in Fulton Township, son of the late Allen R. and Susan Kreider Dubble. He is survived by a daughter, Patricia, wife of James Walsh of Lancaster, 2 grandchildren: Eric, husband of Veronica Walsh of Asheville, North Carolina, Katie, wife of Ryan MacDonald of Lancaster, two great grandchildren: Wyatt and Hadley MacDonald, a sister, Emma Z. Dubble of Lancaster, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Dorothy Adsitt, Joel Dubble, and John Dubble. Robert O. “Bob” Jones, of Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, departed this life on Monday, June 5, 2023, and went to be with his Lord and Savior. He was 98 years old. Bob was the husband of Jean W. (Willox) Jones, who passed away in 1998. Born at home in Wilmington, DE, he was a son of the late Reverend John O. and Beatrice May (Griffith) Jones. Bob was a graduate of Wilmington High School, class of 1942. From 1943 - 1946 he proudly served his country as an Aviation Radioman 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy on a PBM Mariner Aircraft in the South Pacific, earning a Distinguished Flying Cross Air Medal. After discharge from the Navy, Bob started his 42-year career as an electrician with DuPont, the last 22 years as Superintendent of the Electrical Department. Ella Lorraine Lewis, 58, of Peach Bottom, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Sheets and the late Phyllis (Greer) Comer. For many years Ella worked as a beautician and she enjoyed cutting and styling hair and owning her own hair salon. Ella also found joy in having her faithful dog as a companion. Ella is survived by her sons, Michael Rowland, Randall Rowland, Shane Hall, and Kyle Hall, sisters, Cheryl Vollmer and Karen Sheets, a brother, Allen Greer, and three grandchildren. Richard L. “Cowboy” Springer, 82, of Mine Road, Paradise, PA passed away at his residence on Friday, June 2, 2023. He was the husband of Christine A. Delp Springer. Born in West Grove, PA he was the son of the late Donald and Sarah D. Beers Springer. He retired from Herr’s Potato Chip after 30 plus years where he worked as a supervisor and district manager. Cowboy was a good friend of the Amish community. Active in scouting, he earned his Eagle Scout Award and was a scout master. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, Elks Federation and Archery Club. Cowboy also enjoyed horseback riding. Patricia Jeanne Martin, age 80, of Oxford, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Ware Presbyterian Village. She was the wife of Junior L. Martin who passed away on March 30, 2016. Born in West Grove, Patricia was the daughter of the late Robert Glen and Mary Sheets Brewer. She was a member of Wesley Church in Quarryville. In her free time, she enjoyed boating and cooking. Surviving are 3 children: Paula wife of Randy Paisley of Oxford, Jeffery McLaughlin companion of Kelly Leaman, Sandra Nethery all of New Holland, 3 sisters: Dorothy Jones, Betty Brewer both of Colorado, Bonnie wife of Angelo DelValle of Nottingham, 2 step sons: Tracy husband of Ruth Martin, Terry Martin, 4 grandchildren: Shannon, Olivia, Ezekiel and Tyler, several nieces and nephews and her dog, Peanut. |
