Garry A. Barr, of New Providence, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020. He was the husband of Audrey M. Charles Barr. He was born in Lancaster, son of the late Richard Barr. He worked at High Steel for over 30 years. Garry was a member of the Mosquito Creek Hunting Club where he enjoyed hunting. Surviving besides his wife are 2 children: William A. “Bill” Barr and Leann M. Barr both of New Providence, 3 grandchildren: Landyn Barr, Rhyland Johnson, and Emily Barr, and a brother: Barry Barr of WA. Services will be at the convenience of the family. reynoldsandshivery.com CORINNE FINGER RHODES, aged 93, of Oxford, PA died on April 30, 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 virus. She was the widow of Donald M. Rhodes who passed away in 2005, and with whom she shared 35 years of marriage. She was previously married to the late Hubert (Scoop) Sumner for 20 years. Queenie was born on May 8, 1926 at the family farm on Blake Road in rural Elkton, MD. She was the daughter of the late Robert B. and Mattie Jones Finger. She was a secretary at Jordan Bank and Nottingham Schools, prior to retiring from the Oxford Area School District. Queenie was a graduate of Calvert High School, Rising Sun, MD and attended secretarial school in Philadelphia. She was a longtime member of the Oxford Church of the Nazarene, and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, Post 1776. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Haney Cozzone; a brother, Robert B. Finger, II; four grandsons, Robert, Jeffrey, and Timothy Haney, and Steven R. Cochran; three great-granddaughters, three great-grandsons; extended family; and cherished friends. Raymond C. Hertz, age 79 of New Providence, passed away on Thursday, April 30 at Conestoga View. He was the husband of the late Marian E. Kauffman Hertz who passed away on August 31, 2016. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Richard and Blannie Kilby Hertz. Raymond worked for High Steel as a fabrication supervisor. In his free time, he loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, and sitting on his porch sipping coffee. He was a member of the Lancaster County and the Elstonville Sportsman Associations. |
