Cindy L. Brown, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at her home. She was the wife of Barry Brown Sr. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late William D. and Annarella Barnosi Smith. She enjoyed being around her grandkids. George “Scott” Y. Thomson, III, 58, of Oxford, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 peacefully at home. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of George Y. Thomson, Jr. of Oxford and Barbara T. Metz Blevins of Oxford. Scott enjoyed working on any type of engines, favorite being the “HEMI”. He is survived by his father; mother; two brothers, Robert S. Thomson of OH and Paul Thomson of FL; one sister, Kimberly Conner of Oxford; one uncle, George W. Metz of Newtown Square; and two nieces, April Dawson and Andrea Dawson. Margie S. Sheaffer, age 71, of New Providence, passed away while in the arms of her beloved husband and best friend, Gary Sheaffer with whom she celebrated 35 years of marriage in November. Born in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Miriam Pivit Agel. Margie graduated from Niles West High School and from Illinois State University majoring in Speech Communications. She worked in the rare coin business as a Numismatist sales person traveling throughout the U.S. and will be greatly missed by her many colleagues and friends. She enjoyed singing and theater, performing at the Fulton Opera House and the Ephrata Performing Arts Theater. Her favorite role was playing Mama Morton in the play Chicago. Naomi E. Beiler, age 82, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, surrounded by her husband and 8 children. She was the wife of Isaac S. Beiler with whom she celebrated 61 years of marriage on November 19th. She was born in Paradise, daughter of the late Amos H. & Naomi Fisher Fisher. She attended the Worship Center of Leola, and in the past was an active member of Sandy Hill Community Church where she formed many lasting relationships. Naomi was a nurturing homemaker and helpmate to her husband on the family farm for 40 years and then owned and operated Naomi's Personal Touch Cleaning Services for over 25 years. She enjoyed collecting beautiful dishes, and found great delight in giving them away during her brief illness. She also enjoyed flower gardening, cooking & baking, and was famously known for her shoofly pies. She profoundly impacted people by her gift of serving and hospitality. Naomi was a proficient writer and keeper of family history. Janet E. Leaman, age 92, formerly of Willow Street and Ronks passed away at Calvary Homes on Monday, January 11, 2021. She was the wife of the late Charles H. Leaman who passed away on September 5, 2012. She was born in Manheim, daughter of the late Ralph & Edith Mellinger Metzler. She was a member of Calvary Monument Bible Church of Paradise. She graduated from Manheim Borough High School class of 1946. Janet had a guest home and enjoyed taking guests into her home and serving meals. She enjoyed being involved with the Farm Women's Society and sewing. For many years she collected and sold used postage stamps to benefit Ambassadors for Christ Missions. Jessie Lee Greer, 78, of Oxford, PA passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at Twin Pines Health Care Center, West Grove. She was the wife of Robert H. Greer with whom she shared 37 years of marriage. Born in West Grove, PA she was the daughter of the late Jesse G. and Lillian B. Roney Wood. She was a member of Safe Harbor Baptist Church, Cochranvillle. Jessie was employed for many years with the Oxford Area School District as a school bus driver. She loved her grandchildren and her dog, Roxy. She is survived by her husband; six children, Kelly Pyle (Mike) of Nottingham, Wendy Hansen of Mt. City, TN, Joey Greer of Oxford, Linda Arnold (Bill), Lisa Pryor of Fredricksburg, MD and Brenda Church (Scott) of Mt. City, TN; ten grandchildren, Cheri, Gary, Scott, Brandon, Joseph, Mark, Becky, Bo, Wesley and Amir; and several great-grandchildren. David Halladay, Sr., age 79 of Oxford, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at his home. He was the husband of Suzanne Jackson Halladay. Born in Florida, he was the son of the late Tom and Blanche Doran Halladay. David was a member of Union Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Solanco High School and was a farmer all his life. He was a member of the Waterloo Boys and in his free time he loved snowmobiling and driving his antique John Deere tractor. David F. Smucker, age 64 of 11 Bell Road, Unit 1, Christiana, PA, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at his home.
He was the husband of Mary E. Kauffman Smucker. Born in Gordonville, he was the son of Mary Fisher Smucker of Gordonville and the late Daniel B. Smucker. Nolt, 84, of Peach Bottom died at Hospice Care Center in Mount Joy, Friday, January 81/11/2021
Amos Z. Nolt, of Peach Bottom, died peacefully at age 84 on January 8th, 2021 at the Hospice Care center in Mount Joy.
He was the loving husband of Elizabeth M. Nolt for 64 years. A lifelong farmer, Amos moved with Elizabeth to Peach Bottom in 1960, where they raised their four children. He loved spending time with his family, whether that be working with them on the farm, playing games, or gathering around the dinner table. A man of deep faith, he was a faithful member at Fairmount Mennonite Church (Weaverland Conference). He was the son of the late Amos and Ada Nolt. Amos was preceded in death by his infant son, Clyde M. Nolt; his granddaughter, Jolaine Nolt; and his siblings, Mabel Z. Nolt, Elmer Z. Nolt, and Martin Z. Nolt. Daulton J. Trout, age 22, of New Providence, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. He was born in Lancaster, son of William W. Jr. & Julia D. Conley Trout. He graduated from Solanco High School class of 2016, and then attended Arcadia University for 2 years. He worked for Run Valley Exteriors of Conestoga. He enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles, going to car shows and customizing cars. Daulton had many friends that loved him and was a good friend to have. He was known for his awesome laugh and willingness to help in any circumstance. |
