Amelia R. “Meme” Stoner, 78, entered into rest at her home in Quarryville on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Meme, as she was loving known was born in Quarryville, she was a daughter of the late Henri and Helen (Reinhart) Raub. She and her husband, Marvin S. Stoner had celebrated 37 years of marriage in June. Meme was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. She led an active, full life with her family and many friends. She volunteered at her church, collected antiques to decorate her home, and traveled. Combining many of those passions, Meme participated in mission work at Pine Ridge Reservation in North Dakota, helping people of the Sioux Nation. Above all, she shared profound love and laughter with everyone in her company. Surviving besides her husband Marvin is a son, William G. Miller, III and his wife Barbara of Westfield, Tioga Co. and a daughter, Elizabeth, wife of Theodore Pyle, Jr. of Lancaster; along with granddaughters, Victoria and Lara Pyle. Also surviving are sisters; Sarah Stubbs and Joanna Ripple and brothers; John and Albert Raub. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 1 brother.
A Memorial Mass will be on Monday, January 18, 2016 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 955 Robert Fulton Highway, Quarryville, PA beginning at 11:00 a.m. The family will greet friends at the church immediately following the service.
